Is God Calling You to Foster? Come Learn More!

📅 Foster Care Agency Fair – October 20, 2026 from 6:30–8:00p.m.
📍 Community Foundation of Abilene

There are children in our community who need safe, loving homes, but right now, there aren’t enough foster families to meet the need. Maybe you’ve thought about fostering but felt overwhelmed by the process or unsure if it’s the right fit for your family.

The Foster Care Agency Fair is a no-pressure, come-and-go event where you can meet multiple foster care agencies, ask your questions, and get the information you need to explore what fostering could look like for you. Whether you’re just starting to consider it or have been thinking about it for a while, this event is a great way to take the next step.

If fostering has been on your heart, we invite you to come learn, pray, and see where God may be leading you. No commitment, just an open door to explore. Join us on October 20, 2026 from 6:30–8:00p.m. At the Community Foundation of Abilene.

Hey Champions & Community Leaders,

I need your help getting the word out! Please share Explore Foster Care with your churches, communities, small groups, friends, and anyone you know who has ever said, “I’ve thought about foster care, but I don’t even know where to begin.”
On October 6, 2026, Foster 325 and our local churches are hosting Explore Foster Care, a pressure-free evening designed to help people understand the real needs of children and families right here in the 325 and discover the many ways they or their church can get involved.

This is NOT an event where someone is going to pressure you into becoming a foster parent! We simply want people to come, learn, ask questions, hear stories, and discover where they might fit.

Guests will hear about the real needs in our community, hear stories from former foster parents, and learn how local churches are already stepping into this space to serve children and families.

This evening is for:
• Anyone curious about becoming a foster parent
• People who simply want to better understand foster care
• Pastors and church leaders wondering how their congregation can respond
• Anyone asking, “What can I do to help?”
Dinner is provided, but registration is required so we know how many people to feed! Please register at foster325.org/explore.

Foster325 had the privilege of hosting breakfast with Jason Johnson. This gathering was an opportunity to pour into our community champions, the people who quietly and faithfully show up for children and families in hard places every single day.

We are incredibly grateful to Jason Johnson for traveling to encourage our community and speak life into those serving foster families across our region. His words reminded us that even when the work feels slow, unseen, or heavy, faithfulness still matters. Progress is still progress. Seeds are still being planted. Lives are still being changed.

We also had the honor of presenting Judge April Propst with a Legacy of Faith & Servant Leadership Award in recognition of her years of service to our community through family court. Her compassion, leadership, and commitment to children and families have left a lasting impact on countless lives throughout our region.

There was such a genuine spirit of encouragement in the room as leaders, advocates, church members, and community partners came together with one shared purpose: caring well for vulnerable children and the families walking beside them.

Thank you, Jason, for the wisdom, humility, and hope you shared with us. Thank you to every champion who continues to serve with compassion, perseverance, and love. The harvest truly is plentiful, and we are grateful for those willing to step into the work.
