This week, we were joined by our District Governor Linda Kaye Briggs, Assistant Governor Pam Shaffer, and Chief of Staff Gunda Meissner. We had the pleasure of recognizing some truly outstanding people. Past President Monika awarded Josh Steele with the "Service Above Self" award to in honor of his 10+ years of service to our Youth Exchange program. Travis Hoppe was also recognized as "Rotarian of the Year" in honor of all his assistance, knowledge, and willingness to help during Monika's year as President.
Last, but certainly not least, John & Leslie O'Brien were honored as "Unsung Heroes" of our club. The O'Brien's first became acquainted with our club when they were still catering our lunches. They catered our lunches for 25 years. In the past 3 years, they have become honorary members of our club, stepping up to tackle so many different things. They are on our hospitality committee, setting out the coffee & tea every week. They also set up our zoom meeting every week, and facilitate our Naloxone Trainings through RAGAP (Rotary Action Groups: Addiction Prevention).
We are truly so indescribably fortunate to have all of these folks as members of our club. Cheers to all that they do in the name of Service Above Self. If you see them around, make sure to remind them how appreciated they are.
