We are so saddened by the loss of our friend and fellow board member of Aberdeen Concerned Citizens, Rose Teegarden. She was a valued member of ACC and will be missed not only for her outstanding work and commitment to our community but also as a friend to each of us. Rose loved her family, her friends and her hometown of Aberdeen. Rose and Terry were a team and are responsible for many of the improvements to our village.
We can thank Hardymons Lumber and Rose and Terry for the new roofs on the softball dugouts, the rock shelter and on the restroom at the park.
Rose arranged for and made sure the hanging planters were ready to be hung at the park for the past three summers. We didn’t worry whether it would get done. Rose was in charge.
Probably the projects dearest to Rose’s heart were the Christmas decorations and displays. She and Terry created many of the decorations hanging on Rt. 52 from the old decorations that would have been discarded. Each year, they checked the lights on all of the decorations and made sure they were in working order and ready to hang. They built, painted and set up the beautiful Nativity display at the park for the past few years for all to enjoy. In addition, Rose, Terry and the Felix family provide the Christmas tree, Santa and sled we see at the park each year.
When you see the Christmas decorations and the flowers at the park, we hope you think of Rose. She will be dearly missed.
