We are so proud to highlight one of the incredible individuals in the Meaningful Day Program, Javier! 🏆

Javier volunteers weekly with Meals on Wheels, delivering not just meals but smiles, warmth, and genuine connection to seniors in our community. During the school season, he goes above and beyond at Old Post Road Elementary School, stocking the teacher’s lounge with snacks and coffee to show educators they are seen and appreciated. ☕

Javier is a shining example of what it means to show up for others with kindness, consistency, and heart. We are beyond proud to celebrate him and the positive impact he makes in our community every single day.

Every day, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live independently, find and keep jobs, build meaningful relationships, and fully participate in their communities. They are essential to making community living possible, yet their profession still is not officially recognized by the federal government. Tomorrow, August 6, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will consider the Recognizing the Role of Direct Support Professionals Act (S. 3211), an important step toward giving DSPs the recognition they deserve. Take action today by contacting your U.S. Senators and urging them to support S. 3211.
