The Idaho Music Educators Association is a nonprofit educational organization of current and former music teachers and administrators across Idaho in public/private schools and universities and colleges, including private studio t

eachers and music educators living in retirement. IMEA is a state affiliate of NAfMA, the National Association for Music Education, a 85,000 member organization representing music educators across the United States. Our goals include the advocacy of music with government, school boards & administrators, parents & society; betterment of conditions for teaching music to our students; recognition and opportunities for outstanding student musicians; exploration of better and alternative teaching materials and methods; and mutual support through meetings, conferences, and individual help.

The Hall of Fame exists to honor the best in our profession who have distinguished their career with exemplary teaching, musical excellence, inspiring mentorship, devoted professionalism, and inspiring character.

The Lewiston High School Marching Band practicing for the 2025 Independence Day Parade in Washington DC on July 4th in Washington DC down Constitution Ave.

Lewiston High School was selected by Idaho Senator Jim Risch to represent the state of Idaho in this year's parade.

Thank you to Lewiston High School Band Director Brendan Burns and Assistant Director Shelly Renzlman for all of your hard work in preparing and planning this trip for our Idaho students.

And thank you to all teachers who put in extra hours over the summer to prepare students for fall activities and foster the musical success of our Idaho students.

On behalf of the IMEA President's Council, retiring Executive Director Wayne Millett was awarded the Exemplary and Dedicated Service award for his unwavering service to the students and teachers of Idaho.

President Elect Eva Hale made a quilt for Wayne as a thank you for all of his many years and hours he has put in for the betterment of IMEA as a district president, web master, state president and executive director.
