The next spotlight in the "Where Are They Now?" NSU Alumni Association Summer Series features Tiffany Mitchell!

Tiffany (Thorne) Mitchell graduated from Northern State University in 2012 and has built a career defined by curiosity, adventure, and a passion for education. Today, she serves as an Educational Specialist for Peregrine Global Services, an education technology company that provides assessment and accreditation solutions for higher education institutions around the world. In her role, she collaborates on product development, assessment frameworks, and innovative tools designed to improve student learning outcomes.

After graduating from Northern, Tiffany began her teaching career at the American International School of Kuwait, an experience that allowed her to combine her love of education with opportunities to travel, explore new cultures, and continue her passion for music. While overseas, she performed saxophone with both the school's jazz band, 3 AM Shawarma, and a local group known as the Desert Catz.

Following her time abroad, Tiffany returned to Wyoming where she taught third grade, fifth grade, and Gifted and Talented Education. Her passion for learning and innovation eventually led her into the educational technology field, where she now helps support more than 500 higher education institutions worldwide through her work at Peregrine Global Services.

While Tiffany is proud of her professional accomplishments, she says her greatest achievement is her family. She and her husband, Nick, are raising two daughters, and she considers watching them learn and grow to be one of life's greatest joys.

When asked what advice she would give current NSU students, Tiffany shared, “Don't be afraid to set ambitious goals and pursue opportunities that may feel intimidating. Some of the most rewarding experiences in life come from taking thoughtful risks and stepping outside your comfort zone.” She also encourages students to take advantage of the opportunities available at Northern, noting that involvement in residence life, campus activities, and friendships helped shape both her personal and professional journey.

Reflecting on her time at NSU, Tiffany credits Northern with providing the foundation that gave her the confidence to pursue opportunities she never imagined—from teaching internationally to helping shape the future of educational technology. Her story is a testament to the power of embracing new experiences and remaining committed to lifelong learning.
