It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of the founder, creator and first Medical Program Director of Grays Harbor Emergency Medical Services, Dr. Juris Macs.

Dr. Macs wasn't only a catalyst in the creation of pre-hospital care at the local and state level, but his legacy reaches far beyond the systems he helped create. Dr. Julie Buck, our current MPD, shared "Dr. Macs was not only a skilled surgeon, but he was also a mentor and instructor. He taught EMTs and paramedics who are now teaching the next generation, passing along his knowledge, experience, and commitment to caring for others." There is no doubt, his influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

🩸 STOP THE BLEED CLASSES NOW AVAILABLE! 🩸

We’re excited to announce that Grays Harbor EMS & TCC has received their educational license from the Department of Defense and the Stop the Bleed Coalition and is now offering Stop the Bleed classes!

Severe bleeding can happen anywhere, and knowing what to do in those critical first few minutes can make a difference. Our hands-on training will teach you practical skills to recognize and control life-threatening bleeding until professional medical help arrives.

📚 What you’ll learn:

How to recognize life-threatening bleeding

How to apply direct pressure

How to properly pack a wound

How and when to use a tourniquet

Hands-on bleeding control techniques

💲 Cost: $20 per person, pre-registration is required

📅 November 7th at 10:00 AM

📍 Grays Harbor EMS & TCC, 2421 Sumner Ave, Aberdeen WA

We can also schedule private classes for groups at our office or at your place of business!

Coming soon for the community...."Stop the Bleed" training courses! We are looking for instructors with medical background! Any certified EMR's, EMT's and Paramedics, that are interested in becoming an instructor, can attend a free on-line training offered by the DOD. Feel free to call the office with any questions!
