• A 30-second monologue
• 1 minute of a song of your choice (Rock & Roll encouraged or choose from show songs!)
• Performers should be comfortable dancing in heels.

Auditions: Saturday, July 25 11AM
Callbacks: Sunday, July 26 (TBD)

Meet the cast of Mean Girls - High School Edition running June 19-21!

Lauren Dartez is a certified Math, Talented Theatre, and Mentor Teacher who has spent the past 10 years deeply involved in theatre through her daughter Lyra’s productions. What began as volunteering and helping behind the scenes quickly grew into a true passion for all aspects of theatre. Lauren has previously directed Little Shop of Horrors and W***y Wonka and loves helping students build confidence, creativity, and connection through the arts. Mean Girls holds a special place in her heart as it has always been Lyra’s dream show, and directing it has been an unforgettable experience.

Joni Milliman Hebert was born and raised in Erath, Louisiana. She still lives in her hometown with her husband Scott, daughter (Knoah), and their morkie puppy (Kash). Her daughter Kelbi and twin grandbabies, Sutter John and Hudson Reed, are also close by. Joni has her Masters in Educational Leadership and is employed by the Vermilion Parish School Board as a Special Education Coordinator. Joni has been involved with theatre groups through her life in many different roles (Vermilion Players, Iberia Performing Arts League, Abbey Players, Cite de Arts, CYT Lafayette and CYT Vermilion). She is passionate about the arts and loves to see the growth in the students.

Dr. Malani Hoffpauir is a professor of education at UL by day, but by mid-afternoon, she is an active member of Acadiana’s community theater culture. Being on stage has always been a big part of her life, and she’s excited to continue that here! She was last seen on stage as Scuttle (IPALs The Little Mermaid), but has been a busy bee since February working as choreographer for Urinetown (Abbey Players), Anastasia (The Looking Glass), and Mean Girls. Thank you for supporting the awesome kiddos in this show by coming out and seeing all of their hard work on stage! And 5, 6, 7, here we go…

Meet the cast of Mean Girls - High School Edition running June 19-21!

Alexa Theriot is a recent graduate of Tulane University, where she received her degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music. She returns to Abbey Players for her second music directing credit, having previously debuted with Beetlejuice last summer. She has performed on stage around Acadiana with her most recent shows Urinetown (Abbey Players) and The Little Mermaid (IPAL). She is so proud of the work these kids have done!

Ryder Romero is a new social studies teacher after earning his Bachelor of Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in December. He has been in more than 25 shows over the past nine years. Enjoy the show!

Meet the cast of Mean Girls - High School Edition running June 19-21!

Emmalyn Meaux, a 16-year old incoming junior, is very excited to be working on the artistic team for Abbey Players for the first time. She has participated in 17 CYT shows and two Abbey Players productions. Some of her favorite shows include Les Misérables, Matilda, and Mary Poppins. She has also served as Jr. Hair and Makeup Chairman for CYT Vermilion’s Junie B. Jones. Emmalyn plans to pursue Cosmetology after high school and enjoys artsy activities, such as painting, acting, and singing. She is so thankful to serve on the artistic team this summer!

Knoah Hebert is an incoming 8th grade student at Erath Middle, where she is part of the Academic Gifted, Talented Music, Talented Art, and Talented Theatre Programs. In her free time, she enjoys painting, basketball, playing the accordion, and playing with her dog, Kash. Besides theatre, Knoah is also involved with Jr. Beta Club, 4-H Club, and Girl Scouts.
