Family Missions Company

Family Missions Company Lay Catholic missionaries preaching the Gospel, serving the poor, and making disciples The need is urgent; we must go!

Compelled by Jesus' missionary mandate, and filled with the Holy Spirit, Family Missions Company missionaries proclaim Jesus Christ and His Gospel to the poor. Always working in concert with the pastors of the Catholic Church, we strive to live the Gospel that we preach. We believe the Lord is calling many Catholic lay people, both singles and families, to serve in foreign missions, "the greatest and holiest duty of the Church."

MISSIONARY MOM: THE CRAZIEST VOCATION I HAVE EVER LOVED // Sarah Granger // SERVE Summer 2026 Magazine

All mothers and babies pictured in this article are babies that have recently been born or will be soon! This does not account for the hundreds of other missionary kids that make up the rest of our FMC family. In this article alone, born and unborn, there are 21 represented! What a tremendous blessing! Since publication, other pregnancies have been announced, and we know the numbers will grow.

Many of my earliest memories are of being around my mom in mission. I remember playing on the tile floor of our living room in Mexico while Mom led a Bible Study with local women, while nursing my little sister; walking down the dirt road in the Philippines to visit a sick neighbor, myself hand in hand with my sisters while Mom carried my baby brother; working with Mom in our rustic kitchen to prepare food for a Lord’s Day dinner with families who were building Catholic community. Watching my mom balance motherhood of seven children with preaching the Gospel in Mexico, Colombia, New Zealand, Australia, and the Philippines felt normal and even fun.

I am certain that my mom’s witness had everything to do with my ability to say yes to missions when I found myself a newly single mom with three small children, discerning a call to serve with FMC in General Cepeda, Mexico. On the surface, it wasn’t a logical idea. Motherhood is hard enough without living it in the challenging environment of a developing country with foreign language and foreign customs. It increasingly seemed like the craziest idea in the world, as I prepared to leave my wonderful support system to serve the poor in rural Mexico. I frequently had to remind myself that “the wisdom of this world is folly with God” (1 Cor. 3:19) and “His ways are not our ways” (Is. 55:8)...

Mission trips are an amazing way to grow closer in your relationship with Christ AND see the love of Christ in those we serve. Here is a recent testimonial of a mission tripper who attended an FMC mission trip to Mexico and what they had to say:

"I approached this teenager at one of the ranchos all by myself, inviting him to come to the chapel for our service. He said he would if he finished fixing his motorcycle. I realized he was likely not going to come, so I asked if I could pray for him right then. He accepted. He made the sign of the cross with me and stopped working as I prayed for his faith in Christ. Then the three little boys gathered around to pray with us. I invited them to follow me to the chapel, which they did. They then heard my daughter and wife give their faith testimonies. I HAVE to believe seeds were planted in them that day, all because I followed the Spirit's nudge to go invite others to know Christ, and to welcome them into prayer. So powerful."

We are so grateful to have been highlighted on The Deal Podcast!

In this episode of The Deal Podcast, host Joshua Wilson sits down with Saul Keeton and Kevin Granger of Family Missions Company — the largest lay Catholic foreign missionary organization in the world — alongside co-host Jude David, JD, DCL, MBA and Managing Partner at FA Mergers.

Saul and Kevin share how the Lord rerouted their lives, what it takes to run a mission organization sending 200+ missionaries into 11 countries, and how business owners and stewards of capital can become the shaft of the spear that pushes the gospel into the world's most underserved places. This is a conversation about legacy, kingdom ROI, and what happens when ambition meets surrender.

Our newest episode on the podcast dropped, and we are so grateful for our Mission Trip Manager, Kim Capoun! She shares in this episode answers to a very important question: Why should anyone go on a mission trip?

Yes, it is true, you will find it fulfilling helping repair roofs or lay concrete floors, but more than anything, what you will encounter is the poor serving YOU. Jesus is in the poor that we serve, and He desires to meet you there!

JOYS AND WONDERS OF MISSIONARY FORMATION // Aleksandra Rogulska // SERVE Summer 2026 Magazine

Last March, I came all the way from Ireland to Big Woods for a Discernment Week to take a closer look at a missionary call with Family Missions Company. Honestly, I had no idea that one year later I’d be sitting here reminiscing about six incredible months of formation.

As I write this, my heart is just full! I am grateful for our formation team, my roommates, the other Intakers, and the whole Big Woods community.

“We give thanks to thee, O God; we give thanks; we call on thy name and recount thy wondrous deeds” (Psalm 75:1). There are so many blessings and little miracles to recount. Let me pull back the curtain a bit and share about my life during Intake.

// The chapel—the heart of it all //
Life here revolves around five big “stones”: Prayer, Scripture, Sacraments, Community Life, and Mission. We pray together, we pray alone, and from day one, the chapel has been my favorite place.

The chapel smells of wood and is big enough to gather the whole community for Mass and worship. Behind the tabernacle and crucifix, there are four windows. Every time I look at them, I’m reminded of the call to bring the Gospel to the four corners of the world, in Jesus’ words, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Mark 16:15).

It blesses me to watch the seasons change through those big windows. Sitting there in prayer, I’d see tall treetops swaying, fresh green leaves shimmering in the sunlight, gently moving in the breeze. It often feels like creation itself is joining in the prayer. It’s a quiet, exquisite reminder of God’s glory and the beauty of His creation.

Fridays in the chapel are special. The whole community, including families, staff, singles, and Intakers, gathers for praise and worship. We adore the Lord, thank Him for the week, and share powerful glory stories and testimonies. Even if I walk in feeling heavy, I can’t help but leave lighter, sometimes even dancing. “Praise Him with timbrel and dance,” right? (Psalm 150:4)...

Madelyn Weaver, a missionary serving in Mexico, shares a beautiful reflection about Pentecost:

On Pentecost, the apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, proclaimed the salvation—the “deliverance”—that Jesus brought, and 3,000 people were baptized. Their lives were transformed. That level of conversion is incredible, but that was just the beginning. The faith spread massively, but still, so many precious souls have not heard the Gospel or do not know what it means to truly know and live in the Lord. Through the power and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we too can be transformed, be instruments of His transforming love and truth to others.

Saint Paul asks in His letter to the Romans, “But how can they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach?” (Romans 10:14).

So many souls have yet to hear, believe in, or call on the Lord. Let us draw close to the Lord, continue firmly in prayer for all those who are far from Him, ask Him to send out more people to share His Word, and ask Him how He is calling us to be open to His gifts and movements in our lives today.

The latest episode of the Go! You Are Sent podcast has DROPPED! Michael Henderson, an FMC missionary, shares a powerful story on what happens when we make ourselves available to the Holy Spirit. All we got to do is just be the Lord's hands and feet, and He will take care of the rest.
