Participatory Issues Identification is a platform designed for community structures, such as Women Fora, Male Champions and Cultural Alliance to gain an updated understanding of community issues. After identifying the issues, Community Structures develop action plans to address them. It is a quarterly activity that keeps our peacebuilding Initiative relevant to the context while also being community-led.

We are really happy to host Prince Stephen Wandu Bimo from our partnerorganization I CAN SOUTH SUDAN here in Germany at our headquarter in Neuwied.

Stephen is attending trainings at Pro Peace for Peace and Conflict Transformation. EIRENE and I CAN SOUTH SUDAN are jointly working on improving the relations between refugee and host communities in Yumbe District in Uganda in a Civil Peace Service project.

VACANCY: International Peace Worker Focusing on Peace Building and Organization Development

EIRENE International Christian Service for Peace, through its Uganda Civil Peace Service (CPS) Programme, is implementing the project “Men and Women in Refugee and Host Communities Working Together for Gender-Equitable and Peaceful Coexistence.” This initiative is in partnership with I CAN South Sudan,

EIRENE seeks an International Peace Worker specializing in peacebuilding and organizational development to support activities in the Bidi Bidi Refugee Settlement, West Nile region. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with I CAN South Sudan.

Main tasks:

* Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the CPS project.
* Enhance peacebuilding approaches in refugee and host communities.
* Mentor teams to improve organizational systems and procedures.
* Promote learning and conflict- and trauma-sensitive practices.
* Provide occasional support to the partner organization MACCO in Arua.

Who can apply:

* Master’s degree in organizational development, peace studies, human rights, or a related field required.
* Five to ten years of relevant experience.
* Strong communication and coordination skills required.
* Excellent command of English required.
