August is a month of hope.

We have reached the final phase of building a hospital that will become a place of healing, comfort, and hope for vulnerable families who have nowhere else to turn.

Every brick laid, every room completed, and every piece of equipment installed brings us one step closer to saving lives. For a mother in labor, a sick child, or an elderly person in need of urgent care, this hospital could mean the difference between life and death.

We cannot finish this mission alone. We humbly ask you to stand with us during this final stage. Every gift, whether large or small, is an investment in a life that will be healed, a family that will find hope, and a community that will have access to compassionate healthcare.

Every child is born with unique creativity and natural abilities waiting to be discovered. At Mengo Children's Foundation, we create opportunities for children to explore their imagination, express their ideas, and develop the gifts that make them unique.

At MCF, we value the importance of play in the lives of children. Research shows that children learn best through play, as it supports their overall growth and development. Through play-based activities, we help children develop important life values such as respect, kindness, cooperation, and responsibility—qualities they will carry with them throughout their lives.

We also introduce children to syllables, letter sounds, and word recognition in fun and engaging ways. This helps strengthen their early literacy skills, making it easier for them to understand and recognize words when they encounter them again in the classroom and in their everyday lives.

Edith's story of change.

With her hands, she molded bricks under the scorching sun. With her heart, she whispered prayers for something more — a chance, a door, an opportunity.

Every day wasn’t just about survival. It was about hope.

Hope that one day, she would sit in a classroom instead of the dust. Hope that one day, she would trade bricks for books. Hope that one day, she would become the doctor she dreamed of being.

“I want to become a doctor to help my community,” she said.

And then, one opportunity came — through the support of Mengo Children’s Foundation.

That was all it took.

A single chance didn’t just change her day it changed her direction, her future, her life.

Nakato’s story is a reminder: Talent is everywhere. Dreams are everywhere. But opportunity is not.

This Good Friday, we pause to reflect on the ultimate expression of love and sacrifice—a reminder that true greatness is found in serving others and lifting up the most vulnerable.
