Through promoting gender inclusivity our farmers have been empowered to have stronger families.🌱
Today, we engaged farmers into an interactive training session on gender equality and inclusion this, highlighted the importance of shared decision-making, equal participation, and respecting the roles of both women and men in agriculture.

The training encouraged participants to recognize how gender equality strengthens households, improves farm productivity, and builds more resilient communities.

Through open discussions and shared experiences, farmers talked about how they promote fairness, collaboration, and inclusive leadership within their families.

Together, we are creating stronger communities where everyone has an equal opportunity to contribute and building a sustainable future for all.

🌱 Empowering Farmers Through Sustainable Agriculture!

Members of the Nakawuka Farmers Group participated in a practical hands-on training on climate-smart agriculture under the CALI-B Project implemented by WADFA with support from Vi Agroforestry.

The training focused on: 🌿 Establishing vegetable nursery beds for kale, spinach, eggplant, and green pepper.

Through practical demonstrations, farmers gained valuable skills in nursery bed preparation, soil management and sustainable farming techniques that will help improve food security, nutrition, household incomes, and climate resilience among their households.

Together, we are building stronger communities through sustainable agriculture.

🌱 Empowering farmers through knowledge for sustainable livelihoods!

Today we have conducted a training with the Hester Mpumudde Farmers Group in Sissa Sub-county under the CALI-B Project, with support from Vi Agroforestry.

The training focused on strengthening farmers' capacity in enterprise selection. Through interactive discussions and knowledge sharing, farmers explored practical ways to improve productivity, build resilience to climate change, and increase household incomes.

Together, we are nurturing resilient farming communities and promoting sustainable development through community-led action.

Strengthening Local Leadership for Sustainable Development 🌱
WADFA successfully convened induction meetings with leaders from Sissa Sub-county and Bussi Sub-county to introduce the Climate change adaptation and mitigation for livelihood improvement and Bio-diversity Conservation in wakiso District. (Cali-B) Project.

The meetings brought together local government leaders, community representatives, and other stakeholders to enhance their understanding of the project's objectives, implementation approach, and their critical role in promoting environmental conservation, climate resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and community participation.

Through strong collaboration with local leaders, WADFA aims to ensure effective implementation and long-term sustainability of CALi-B interventions across the targeted communities.

Today we launched a practical training program teaching pupils about nutrition, food security, and how to establish and maintain school nutritional gardens. Students practiced planting, composting and learned simple affordable ways to add nutritious foods to their diets. These gardens will help supplement school meals, teach life skills and strengthen community food resilience.

Want to support? We are looking for volunteers, seed donations and green supplies.
