We are pleased to welcome Rebbeca Nalwoga Mukwaya to Slum Life Survival (SLS) as our new Assistant Executive Director.

Rebecca joins the team at a pivotal moment as we scale our work in youth empowerment, women’s economic inclusion, climate resilience, and community-led development. Her leadership, professionalism, and commitment to social impact strengthen our institutional capacity and position SLS for the next phase of growth.

In this role, she will support strategic implementation, strengthen partnerships, enhance program coordination, and reinforce governance and operational excellence across our initiatives.

We are confident that her contribution will accelerate our mission of empowering marginalized communities and building sustainable livelihoods.

🩺 Breaking Barriers in Health Awareness

As we prepare for forth-coming event, here is a piece to inform our purpose for this event.

In Uganda’s urban slums, stigma and misinformation often prevent families from seeking timely healthcare. At Slum Life Survival (SLS), we believe sensitization is the key — creating safe spaces in schools, markets, and sports fields where communities can learn, ask, and act.

This Friday, 5th September 2025, together with Rotary Kampala Daybreak, we’ll host free medical screenings and health education workshops in Kazo — ensuring that no one is left behind.

Because when communities are informed, they are stronger. 💪
