The GlobalGiving Little by Little Campaign starts today (March 17–20)!
https://lnkd.in/dQmiUMQ3
This is a powerful moment when small donations create big change.
Thanks to GlobalGiving, all donations up to $50 will be matched by 50% while funds last—meaning your contribution can go even further to support children’s education in Uganda.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to keep 19 children in school this year by providing school fees, uniforms, and learning materials.
Because of supporters like you, children like Giita, a 10-year-old in Primary 3, have already received school supplies, a uniform, and school fee support—helping him stay in school and continue pursuing his dream of becoming a teacher.

⏰ The campaign begins today March 17th at 10:00 AM EDT.
Every gift matters. Every child deserves the chance to learn.
Let’s come together and show how small acts can create lasting impact.

Meet Edward one of our dedicated youth beneficiaries who has been part of Cosma for approximately five years. Over this time, we have witnessed remarkable progress in his household income and meaningful positive changes within his family.
For Season B (September 2025 – January 2026), Edward received 25kg of improved maize seeds to plant on his 2.5 acres of land. Through hard work and commitment, he harvested an impressive 1,650kg of maize and contributed 285kg back to Cosma as part of our agricultural return model.
From the profits of his maize sales, Edward is hiring casual laborers to help clear his field in preparation for this next planting season. He is also using the income to purchase fertilizers for his coffee, pay school fees for his children, and provide basic needs for his family.
During our recent visit, we had the opportunity to see the great progress he has made as he prepares for Season A (February 2026 – May 2026). His determination and growth are a powerful reminder of what is possible when opportunity meets hard work.
The commitment and transformation we see in families like Edward’s is because of you our friends, donors, and well-wishers who choose to support our community. Thank you for making this impact possible.

Last week, we had the opportunity to participate in the CLI Convening 2026 Conference in Naivasha, Kenya, organized by our partners at ISROFF Family Foundation. The event brought together alumni leaders from 2020 to date across 8 African countries for exchange learning and collaboration aimed at strengthening leadership and community impact.
The week was filled with valuable learning on fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, program management, and presenting our work to donors, alongside partnership building and cultural exchange.
We are excited to bring these lessons back to COSMA and apply them to strengthen our work and impact.

A big thank you to the organizers and everyone who shared their knowledge and experiences.

Expanding farmer cooperatives and improving access to affordable finance.
Strengthening training in climate-smart agricultural practices. Increasing education sponsorship opportunities for vulnerable children. Enhancing monitoring, evaluation, and impact reporting systems. Strengthening program impact tracking while engaging new local and international funders and partners. Building staff capacity at the grassroots level and promoting participation in fellowships, trainings, and conferences
Each of these priorities reflects our deep commitment to empowering communities, strengthening long-term sustainability, and driving meaningful development where it matters most.

Education is at the heart of COSMA’s mission and remains a cornerstone of our work especially for vulnerable children facing barriers such as poverty, orphanhood, and instability.
In 2025, our education program continued to open doors and create pathways to opportunity:
62 children supported across 7 community schools (primary & secondary)
48 school and home visits conducted to monitor progress and provide mentorship
2 students proudly graduated from high school and are now preparing for higher education
Every visit, every lesson, and every milestone brings us closer to a future where no child is left behind.
We are proud to be educating and training the future leaders of Uganda. Thank you for being part of our journey and believing in our mission.

As we approach the end of the school holiday, we were grateful for the opportunity to carry out home visits with our children. It was truly heartwarming to see them actively helping at home and experiencing their natural daily life within their families.
Seeing our children demonstrate responsibility and a strong work ethic at home just as they do at school is always encouraging. This reflects the heart of our sponsorship program: nurturing hardworking, responsible, and confident young citizens.

Janat can’t wait to begin harvesting from her flourishing garden. During planting season B of 2025, she received 8 kg of maize seed and, despite facing drought at the beginning of the season, she is now expecting an estimated harvest of 900–1,200 kg of maize.
With the income from this harvest, Janat plans to expand her farm and strengthen her household’s livelihood. Her dedication and resilience are already paying off.

Mary from the Vunza Farmers’ Cooperative Group was not discouraged by the drought at the beginning of planting season B of 2025. With determination, she was able to acquire 12 kg of maize seed and plant despite the challenging conditions.
As harvest time approaches, Mary is optimistic and expects to harvest between 1,700 kg and 2,000 kg of maize. The income from selling her harvest will help her pay school fees and purchase school supplies for her children for the coming school term.

It’s been 3 months since we distributed maize seeds to our farmers at the start of planting season B, and we’re already seeing some amazing progress!
We’ll be sharing stories of the farmers who benefited from this initiative and how their farms are thriving. From the hard work they’ve put in to the challenges they've overcome, these updates are a testament to the power of hard work.
In the meantime, our kids are on school holiday, and we’re out visiting their homes to check in on them. It's always great to see how they’re doing during their break!
Stay tuned for our weekly updates – we can’t wait to share more about the impact of this project and the bright future ahead!
