We are so excited to announce our first vocational training at our center with 10 women and girls learning how to make bead bracelets.💡

The group is already working on an order of 250 bracelets gaining practical skills and an opportunity to earn as they learn.

Because learning a new skill can open doors to confidence, creativity and economic opportunities,our goal is not only to teach a craft, but to create pathways for empowerment and income generation.

“I thought I was sick.”🩸

Before our menstrual health training, Estelle believed her short menstrual cycle meant something was wrong but today she knows it is NORMAL.

She left with accurate information about her body function and a menstrual cup she can use for up to 10 years🥳.

This shows that menstrual health is not just about distributing products but it’s about providing knowledge, confidence and dignity.

Back in Kityaza Village 🩸

Following up on our first menstrual health session, we returned to engage 121 women and girls in another interactive training on menstrual health and menstrual cup use.

We distributed 92 menstrual cups to participants who had not received one during our first visit.

“I hope this cup will give me more freedom to do my daily activities even during my red days.” Said ISHIMWE one of the participants.

Kityaza is a remote village, located far from many of the areas where other refugees live and according to the the village chairman, families settled there often feel disconnected from services available elsewhere. That is why he was so grateful to see us bring menstrual health education and menstrual products to women and girls of his community.

We visited Kityaza Village in Nakivale Refugee Settlement where 127 women including many single mothers took part in our menstrual health education session and learned about menstrual cups as a new option for managing their periods.

During the discussion, many women shared that they rely on old cloth to manage their periods and this was their first time to see and learn about menstrual cups as a menstrual solution and we could see the excitement and curiosity in their eyes✨.

The session was highly engaging and at the end 112 women received a menstrual cup.
We look forward to returning in three months for a follow-up session to hear about their experiences and provide continued support where it will be needed.

We conducted a menstrual health training session with women and girls in Kityaza A Village, creating a safe space to learn, share experiences, and break the silence surrounding menstruation.

The session focused on menstrual hygiene management and the proper use of menstrual flow cups, equipping participants with practical knowledge and confidence to manage their periods safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

Menstrual health is not just about managing periods it is about knowledge, dignity, confidence, and empowering women and girls to make informed choices about their bodies.

We went back to New Kivu, a community of newly arrived refugees in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, for a follow-up session with girls and women who had received menstrual flow cups.

The session gave us an opportunity to hear about their experiences using the cups and how they have helped them overcome some of the challenges they previously faced during their periods.

The heartfelt appreciation and gratitude shared by the women and girls showed how meaningful this support has been. What once brought discomfort and struggles during their periods is now being managed with greater confidence, dignity, and comfort

Together, we are creating lasting change in the lives of girls and women in Nakivale.

Today, at We Empower Her vocational center officially launched its first Craft-Making Training at the Vocational Center, creating a space where women and girls can learn, create, and discover the power of their own hands.

Through practical, hands-on learning, participants are gaining skills, knowledge, creativity, and confidence tools that can become opportunities for income, independence, and a stronger future.

This is more than craft-making. It is about turning talent into skills, skills into opportunities, and opportunities into empowerment.

At Kisura B Village in Rubondo zone, women and girls came together for an engaging menstrual health education session.

Through open conversations and practical learning, participants explored the menstrual cycle, menstrual hygiene, and the proper use and care of menstrual flow cups.

The joyful moments, smiles, questions, and active participation made the session a meaningful space for learning, confidence-building, and breaking the silence around menstruation.

Because when women and girls have the right knowledge, they can make informed choices and manage their periods with confidence and dignity.

Creating spaces to learn, ask questions, and take control of menstrual health.

At Crisco Church, we spent time with 60 women and girls from the Sudan Community, sharing practical knowledge around menstrual and reproductive health.

The session was filled with participation, conversation, and learning because access to the right information can change how women and girls experience their periods.

Through menstrual health education and reusable menstrual cups, we are working to reduce the barriers that can keep girls from school and women from their daily work.

When knowledge meets access, confidence grows and so does opportunity.
