Kichwamba Orphanage Foundation (KOF) is a charitable organization in Rubirizi district Uganda, registered with the government of Uganda. Our aim is to help elevate orphans, other vulnerable children and eld

erly whose parents and guardians died from the wildlife attacks, anti-poaching ranger patrols, HIV/AIDS scourge, wars and poverty into improved and better lives through care, education and empowerment. Our work started in 2018 with 40 orphan children and we have now grown overwhelmingly to over 150 orphans of all ages starting from 3 years old. Our dedication is to support these kids until they can support their lives independently, possibly after attaining reasonable education and a job for their living and support to their community. Being adjacent to Queen Elizabeth national park, we’re in the center of orphans who lost their parents to dangerous animals and anti-poaching ranger patrols, HIV/AIDS scourge and wars. Also, the government policy of conservation where people were chased away from their land for the gazetting of the national park left many poor, vulnerable and unable to afford basic necessities of life. The area is home to over 1000 orphaned children in addition to thousands of vulnerable children and elderly whose parents and guardians can’t afford a single meal a day! Our support and care for orphans and vulnerable children in Rubirizi Uganda has provided the love, resources and security for them to be on the path to having a successful future and providing care back to their community. This is our joy, to turn the suffering into smiles by helping those who are helpless and to restore hope to the hopeless.

We are so proud of our children!

On Thursday, pupils from Shemererwa Nursery and Primary School, supported by Kichwamba Orphanage Foundation, participated in ball games including Football, Netball and Volleyball.

For the first time, our children played tirelessly and reached the Semi Finals in both Football and Netball. This shows the great work, discipline, and training they have put in.

At Kichwamba Orphanage Foundation and Shemererwa Nursery and Primary School, we are committed to discovering and building the different skills and talents in every child. Sports teach teamwork, confidence, resilience, and leadership.

To all well-wishers and lovers of sports: we invite you to be part of this journey. By supporting these children with sports kits, training, and opportunities, you are helping them develop talents that can shape them into great leaders of tomorrow.

Dear Friends and Family,

Today, Kichwamba Orphanage Foundation and Shemererwa Nursery and Primary School proudly joined the nation in cleaning our environment.
Our children with joyful hearts picked up litter, swept compounds, and planted seeds of responsibility — because a Clean Uganda is Everyone’s Responsibility.

Our children didn’t just clean. They learned.
They learned that a clean home starts with them.
That a clean school and community starts with us.
That a clean country starts with all of us, together.

To our dear parents, guardians, supporters and community:
Let’s be the example our children are following.
Let’s carry this spirit into our homes and villages.
1. Dispose waste properly - bin it, don’t drop it.
2. Keep our surroundings clean - at home, at school, and in public places.
3. Teach by doing - when children see us care for our environment, they will too.

A clean environment means healthier children, fewer sicknesses, and a brighter future for them.

Dear Friends, Well-wishers, and Supporters of Kichwamba Orphanage Foundation,

With grateful hearts we share this good news.
Our children from Shemererwa Nursery and Primary School, under Kichwamba Orphanage Foundation, are fully confirmed to represent our school and our district at the National Debate, Poetry and Public Speaking Competition.

The competition will take place from 24th to 26th this month at St Mary's Nursery and Primary School in Kampala.

This is a big opportunity for our children to grow in confidence, knowledge, discipline and godly values. It is their chance to let their voices be heard and to make us proud on a national stage.

We humbly request all well-wishers to support our children as they prepare for this journey. Any contribution towards transport, materials, meals and other needs will go a long way in helping them give their very best.

A Heartfelt Update to Our Global Kichwamba Family

We’re so excited to share this news with all our dear funders, sponsors, and friends around the world!

Two weeks ago, we began our second semester, and Kichwamba is buzzing with life again. Our children are fully settled, classrooms are filled with learning, and teachers are pouring their hearts into every lesson.

To start the term strong, we distributed scholastic materials including books, pens, pencils, and other basic needs like sanitary pads, smearing jelly, washing soap, and toothpaste to all the children under Kichwamba Orphanage Foundation. Seeing their smiles reminded us why we do this work.

Beyond books, our playgrounds are alive too. The kids are training hard for upcoming competitions in football, netball, and volleyball. And mark your calendars, our debate team is stepping up to compete this 13th June. We believe in raising leaders who think, speak, and play with confidence.

To everyone who empowers, transforms, educates, and cares for our children, thank you. Whether you’ve donated, prayed, shared our story, or cheered us on, you are building futures here. You truly hold special places in our hearts.
