SUCCESS STORY
One of the key values we have instilled in our community through veganic gardening is the belief that every crop can be grown successfully with the right knowledge and care.
Many people once viewed onion farming as impossible, but today that perception has been challenged, and onions are being grown successfully within the community.

UPDATE- All the schools we visited on Friday for Ebola Awareness Day requested a partnership in Veganic growing and the promotion of plant-based eating in their schools. We spoke with the administrators of these schools and agreed that they would provide gardening space while we supply the seeds.
We also agreed to conduct training sessions on how to prepare different plant-based foods using their own harvests from the Veganic gardens we plan to establish.
This is a call for seed donations. If you can help us provide seeds for these schools, please donate via this GoFundMe page.

Not everyone can visit a school and have the learners called to an immediate, unplanned assembly to address them.
Thank you to the administration of Kacereere Primary School, Kashongati Primary School, and Bufundi College Kacereere for believing in Vegan Village Society.
To the neocolonialists, just know that Vegan Village Society is not just an organization but a movement that will not disappear so soon.

UPDATE ON EBOLA AWARENESS CAMPAIGN BY VEGAN VILLAGE SOCIETY.

Today, with the small support we received from our friend, we carried out one of the most important and impactful Ebola awareness outreach campaigns in different schools across Rubanda District.

We distributed face masks to over 2,000 learners at Bufundi College Kacerere, Kacerere Primary School, and Kashongati Primary School, with clearance and guidance from the District Health Department.

We also provided detergents to the school authorities and tasked them to ensure that there is water for handwashing at the entrance of each school, mixed with these detergents. Learners were encouraged to make handwashing a daily culture if we are to successfully fight Ebola.

We thank the school authorities for allowing us to speak to the learners, and we also appreciate our anonymous donor for facilitating this campaign.

Unfortunately, the demand for more masks from other schools remains very high after hearing about today’s outreach. We are therefore open to any funding opportunities and support to help in the fight against Ebola.
