The Women of Pader Uganda

The Women of Pader Uganda Pader Uganda and its people were ravaged by Joseph Kony and his Lord's Resistance Army for 20 years. They have also begun savings groups. Thank you!

Igniting hope, healing, and empowerment in war-torn Northern Uganda to become spiritual and sustainable business leaders through community, education, employment, business trainings, and micro-loans. Many people were killed, many were infected with HIV/AIDS, most were traumatized. The war ended around 2008 but the effects remain with poverty, AIDS, malaria, and malnutrition as constant problems. H

olly first visited Pader in 2013 where she was drawn to the isolated, lonely, and very poor women; she felt led by God to work with these women and over the last 3 years has built a ministry with the ladies at Pader Community Church. She works with the women on improving the quality of their beadwork and developing new designs, bringing their beautiful jewelry back to the US to sell. Holly travels to Pader three times each year where the number of women she works with has grown from 30 to 100 over 3 years. With their craft money, the women are learning to invest in chickens, pigs and goats for a more sustainable income. The beads have given the women a reason to come together and heal, but so much more than income has been generated. Holly posts all festivals and events where she'll be sharing the ladies' story and selling their wonderful goods. Check this FB page regularly and you'll be able to follow her and keep up with these sweet women. We are currently working on a website and will post it when we complete it.

There's nothing quite like hearing the joy of the Lord. 🌾

This is Jackson, you can often find him at church, worshipping the Lord, or at his home taking care of his family. Jackson is in our Mercy program, and he sure happens to tug on our heart strings-- because his JOY is CONTAGIOUS. ❀️

In the bag on his lap, contains His bible, which he carries around everywhere. The last time our team met with him, he asked us for a Proclaimer so that he could listen to the gospel in his language of Acholi. What a simple and yet beautiful request, and what an honor that our ministry was able to provide a solar powered Proclaimer for him and his family to listen to the word of the Lord!

One of the questions we got early into our ministry was "How can you share the gospel if their bellies are hungry?"

And it helped lay the foundation for our ministry. The blueprint of sharing the gospel became evident in serving the people that Jesus had put in front of us. It meant making sure they were fed, clothed, and knew that Jesus loved them.

It's what continues to guide us when the needs are great and the requests become many. "If one of you says to them, β€œGo in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?" James 2:16.

Sometimes people wonder where our name, The Women of Pader Uganda, came from.

Over the past decade (and then some), our team has become a mix of men, women, and families in the community of Pader, all working together towards a better future, both for the current generation, and for the ones to come.

The Lord has given each of us talents and skills, both for our enjoyment and to bring honor to the one who gave us these gifts. Our team is diligent to champion all 100+ of our employees into walking out their faith journey and using their talents to better the kingdom of Christ.

Thanks to for inviting our founder, to be a guest speaker at Ripples of Hope! We are so thankful to partner with such a special group that not only provide Manna Packs for families in our Mercy Program but also for supporting our artisans in The Bead Project through 🀍

We are so grateful for all that FMSC does to provide meals for children and families around the world who are in need, and for being such a faithful group to serve the kingdom of Christ through meeting people's physical needs. Thanks for hosting such a wonderful event!

In the dialogue between Jesus and his disciple, Peter, in John chapter 21, vs. 15-19, Jesus gives some very clear instructions to His disciples. He instructs them that people will know the love of the father by the way His disciples love people (Jn 13:15). Though He is talking to Peter, the bible was left as instructions for those who believe.

The takeaway on is this: "Feed my lambs, Tend my sheep, Feed my sheep, Follow me." For we know that the words of Christ, bring life and life more abundantly.

Silverfish or Mukene is a great source of protein in N. Uganda! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬

After years of conflict in this region, Silverfish became an important food source because it was easy to transport from Lake Victoria, affordable for recovering communities, and is highly nutritious. 🐟

Would you try silverfish? 😊

Sometimes transformation happens quickly. Other times, it comes slowly; through patience, prayer, and perseverance.

More often than not, true transformation is a process of refinement. It may feel slow in the moment, but it is always worth the journey.

When people come to us needing help, there is not always an immediate solution. Many times, it means traveling hours to the nearest clinic, sitting in waiting rooms, praying through uncertainty, and hoping for good news.

It means partnering with like-minded ministries that share the same heart for serving others. It means watching the Lord faithfully provide connections; like ministries helping build wheelchairs for individuals in Northern Uganda.

And through it all, we continue crying out to the Lord, meditating on His Word, and finding joy in Him even when circumstances are difficult.

Transformation is happening at TWOPU and it's happening in Northern Uganda. Thank you Lord!
