The spread of Mpox disease in Uganda but mostly among the s*x workers is of great concern.
Uganda recorded its first case of Mpox in Nakasongola prison in Central Uganda, but new cases have since been reported mostly among s*x workers and the fishing communities (landing sites).
JEEWAG Uganda being one of the Organizations working within the fishing communities and also working with s*x workers, this situation calls for an urgent sustainable action to curb transmission and prevent further outbreaks.

JEEWAG Uganda was part of the E/D's forum for s*x worker's leaders that was organized by UNESO at their Healing Centre.The aim was to discuss about personal and organizational development and sustainability.

As JEEWAG Ug ,We would like to applause UNESO for the great work for this Project of *Advocacy to improve s*xual reproductive health rights of s*x workers in Uganda*, *Training on Policy Analysis and Policy Advocacy among members.
The training aimed at equipping leaders with Policy analysis skills to understand different approaches on how policies may inform their advocacy and
strengthen their capacities to enable effective advocacy for policies that can lead to improvements in exercising human rights among s*x workers.

During the training, leaders were able to learn how to identify key advocacy issues and connect them to the legal frameworks, conducted policy mapping and learnt how SW leaders can engage at different decision making levels of influence.

JEEWAG Uganda is honored to be part of this engagement of female s*x workers leaders who have been trained on mental health and well-being.
The training was aimed at Equipping s*x workers leaders with knowledge on causes and effects of mental issues.
We covered different topics and had several groups works and discussions.

S*x workers are at a high risk of unwanted pregnancy and many of them fall victim of unsafe abortion due to limited knowledge and because of this they face serious complications including
Uterine atony and hemorrhage, Uterine Perforation, Cervical Laceration, blood clots to the heart and brain.
and as JEEWAG we emphasize the need to advocate for progressive legal and policy environment, Enhancement of safe, affordable, and high-quality abortion services for women and girls in Uganda but most especially around the landing sites.
