RIWAD

RIWAD RIWAD is an organization that was initiated in 2018 with the purpose of providing water and sanitation solutions to rural and semi-urban communities in Uganda.

Due to decades of economic growth, Uganda is currently experiencing big population movement from rural areas into semi-urban settings. Though access to clean water in rural areas is a big challenge, the problems that come with accessing clean water and proper sanitation in the semi- urban areas become even bigger due to pollution and lack of planned residential areas with proper sanitation facilit

ies. This has led to the fact that 8 million Ugandans lack access to clean water and 27 million out of the total population of 44 million do not have access to proper sanitation facilities.
