Loneliness is one of the heaviest burdens of old age. When left unaddressed, it quietly chips away at both the mind and body, robbing older persons of their joy, health, and sense of purpose.

But through your continued support, ROTOM is helping change that.

Through the ROTOM Seniors’ Fellowships, older persons receive far more than companionship. They find reasons to laugh, share their stories, and feel seen, valued, and loved. They leave each gathering standing a little taller and feeling a little lighter, reminded that they are not forgotten.

None of this would be possible without you. Every smile shared, every friendship formed, and every life lived with greater dignity and fulfillment carries the impact of your generosity.

ROTOM is deeply grateful for your compassionate heart and unwavering support.

Working with vulnerable older persons has led ROTOM to innovate practical, compassionate solutions to the challenges they face.
One such solution is our Village Outreach Centers (VOCs), safe community spaces where older persons gather for fellowship and connection. For some, these centers also serve as full-time care homes.
We provide residential care for seniors who:
* Need constant support due to advanced age and cannot receive it at home
* Require a safe place to recover before returning home

Currently, we operate three VOCs in Mukono District, providing full-time care to 20 vulnerable older persons, supported by trained caregivers.

Many seniors in Uganda need full-time care but cannot access existing facilities due to high costs and limited availability.

By building care centers within their own communities, we ensure they remain connected, valued, and supported.

Partner with us to bring care and dignity closer to vulnerable and isolated older persons by supporting our Village Outreach Centre initiative.

As we pursue our vision of older persons living fulfilled and dignified lives, we share our work with all who are willing through our Journey For Change Program.

Ellie joined us through this program in partnership with Uganda Christian University. We learned from her, she learned from us, and most importantly, she encountered the powerful stories of vulnerable older persons and their grandchildren.

You too can be part of this movement.

Currently, 72% of older persons in Uganda are caring for children. In past decades, civil war and epidemics such as HIV claimed the lives of many parents, leaving grandparents to raise the next generation. Today, extreme poverty continues to force many parents to leave their children in rural areas under the care of elderly grandparents.

For 23 years, we have witnessed this reality firsthand. In response, we have sought to meet this need through programs like ROTOM School, the Champions Project, and the Friendship Program, supporting grandchildren with spiritual care, education, and access to basic healthcare.
So far, we have supported over 600 grandchildren, and we are currently walking alongside 200 children, providing free education, basic healthcare, and spiritual nurture.

But the need is still great. Many older persons we support are still caring for grandchildren who are exposed to environments no child should have to endure.
With your help, we can do more.
Join us in raising these grandchildren so they can grow, thrive, and shape a better future for all of us.

As We celebrate the Easter season back here at ROTOM, we reflect on the immense sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us.
Through His an ending love we come together with partners like you to support vulnerable older persons.

Thank you for loving our seniors as Jesus loved us and continues to love us.

On 27th March 2026, five incredible ROTOM champions,Nakabiri Shamillah, Nyapendi Oliver Margret, Kebirungi Rebecca, Nakyobinga Ritah, and Nabuule Catherine, graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS) from Clarke University.

Leading the way was Shamillah, who achieved a First Class degree and the highest CGPA in her class, a remarkable accomplishment. Close behind her, her fellow sisters also excelled, earning outstanding grades and proving that determination truly pays off.

These young women are a powerful reminder of what is possible when opportunity meets support. Their success is not theirs alone, it is shared with every person who chose to believe in them and invest in their future.

Because of you, children who once had little hope are now stepping into the world as skilled professionals, ready to serve and transform their communities.

Thank you for reaching one and touching one.
