CREATION CARE UGANDA (LOVING GOD AND LOVING HIS CREATION)
The role of Christianity in environmental protection- Being Stewards of God’s Creation. The first direct assignment which God gave man was not to pray, worship God, or serve others; but to take care of God’s creation in the Garden of Eden. This was a sacred responsibility to man remembering that God had progressively and meticulously creat
ed all things and declared all his work to be very good. When man sinned, God’s plan for the world and of course his entire creation did not change. Whereas man has recognized and accepted Gods plan for salvation and total rejuvenation; little attention has been given to God’s creation and the mandate given to man to tend (care) for this creation. Over the year’s man, Christians inclusive; have systematically directly and indirectly destroyed Gods creation to the level that currently we have more than 20% of animal and plant species that existed in the last two centuries being extinct. Man is only realizing that this wanton destruction of the environment is slowly but surely resulting into the destruction of humanity itself. global warming, acid rains, etc) Our heavenly farther in Heaven, can no longer look on earth and describe His creation as Good! The responsibility lies first and foremost on those who are called by his name; those who have a personal relationship with him; his children- all Christians who believe in the bible as the word of God. The lord is calling us to redeem his creation! As much as we preach the gospel of salvation of salvation of souls, we should also at the same time preach the gospel of redemption of Gods creation. It is because of the above that Creation Care Uganda has been birthed with a mandate by the Grace of the father and guidance of the Holy spirit to speared environmental protection and conservationism at all levels of society. Creation Care Uganda, is an NGO, working with local communities and local authorities in disseminating the gospel of environmental protection. The major objectives are:
1. Environmental conservation
3. Exposing all the enemies of the environment
4. Carrying out research in targeted areas with a view of influencing proper policy formulation at both national and local government levels
As indicated above our first target people are Christians and our guiding manual is the bible the unchangeable word of God. Our strategies will include but not limited to:
• prayer
• word of mouth
• print media/electronic media
• practical activities in selected communities
• our very way of life
