Ssamba Foundation

Ssamba Foundation Ssamba Foundation is a hybrid social enterprise based in Uganda founded in 2006 by Rtn. We partner with local communities and organizations. Hon.

Isaac Ssamba, dedicated to supporting community-led development through ethical volunteer programs. Ssamba’s mission of helping those least able to help themselves started at the age of 14 and at the age of 19, he established a non-government organization which designs and conducts programs which contribute to the welfare and social productivity of disadvantaged individuals and communities with an

emphasis on children, youth and women. Ssamba Foundation addresses some of the most pervasive problems in rural Uganda, including poor healthcare systems, hunger, poor education system, access to clean drinking water, environment degradation and extreme poverty. In addition, the foundation focuses on empowering the youth of Uganda through leadership and skills training. The organization is founded on the principles that our common humanity is more important than our individual differences. We therefore operate on a non-political, non-denominational, and non-sectarian basis, welcoming each and every Ugandan in need. The focus of our programs is on providing resources for quality social services delivery in under-resourced communities of Uganda. In order to uplift the youngest of our society however, it is often necessary to first assist adults and the communities in which they live. Ssamba Foundation is committed to our headquarters district of Mukono, Uganda. The foundation is committed to making an impact in Mukono through Strategic Community Investments by supporting causes that strengthen community development focus.

A normal morning at the community hub.

No big events. No staged moments.
Just showing up, working together, and being part of daily life.

This is what volunteering here actually looks like.

Simple. Real. Human.

EXCITING NEWS FROM MUKONO!

We officially moved our operations to the Kibiribiri Community Hub for 2026/2027!

To make our impact deeper and our volunteer experience smoother, we’ve consolidated our Education, Women’s Empowerment, and Green projects at the Kibiribiri Community School.

While our new Kyampisi Women’s Centre is under construction (stay tuned for site updates!), the school is our vibrant home for teaching, women empowerment workshops, and tree planting.

Want to Stay Local and Explore Deep with us this year? We have 6 spots available in our Kyampisi Backpackers Home volunteer-house!

🌍✨ COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & GLOBAL CONNECTION ✨🌍

On 31st March 2026, the Founder & Director of Ssamba Foundation, Rtn. Isaac Ssamba (also President of the Rotary Club of Mukono Central), met with parents and guardians at Kibiribiri Community Hub/School.

The meeting focused on upcoming development plans and officially introducing our international friends from Germany 🇩🇪 and Chile 🇨🇱, who joined us for a development and cultural exchange experience here in Mukono.

The community warmly welcomed the news with excitement and full support, expressing their readiness to host and collaborate with our volunteers during their stay.

This marks another step forward in building a strong, connected, and empowered community through partnership, learning, and shared impact.
We look forward to a meaningful exchange of skills, culture, and ideas 🌿
