One of our objectives is to provide immediate shelter and protection for street children while addressing their long-term needs for stability and support. One key goal is to establish at least a safe shelter in Mubende Municipality where street children are prevalent. This shelter will serve as a haven for children seeking refuge from the streets and will be equipped with essential resources.

They face numerous challenges that threaten their safety, health, and overall well-being.

The plight of street children is a pressing social issue that requires immediate attention and action from governments, NGOs, and communities alike. The phenomenon of street children is not limited to any one country or region; it is a global issue that transcends borders. In many cities, these children are often invisible to society, living in the shadows and struggling to survive.

They may engage in begging, scavenging, or even criminal activities to meet their basic needs. The lack of stable housing and support systems leaves them vulnerable to exploitation, violence, and abuse. Addressing the needs of street children is not only a moral imperative but also essential for building healthier and more equitable societies.

The insufficient capacity of shelters and social service agencies to meet the demands of a burgeoning homeless population has led many individuals experiencing homelessness to seek shelter in various public spaces. Lacking viable alternatives, many individuals experiencing homelessness turn to public transit settings, including freeway rights-of-way, underpasses, rest areas, parking lots, maintenance facilities, state highways, and local urban streets and sidewalks.

Dear God,

As I embark on the journey of creating new traditions to commemorate my father’s legacy, I seek your guidance. Bless these rituals with meaning and purpose, allowing them to serve as a bridge between the past and the future. May they bring comfort and a sense of closeness, even in his physical absence.
