As we enter 2026, Uganda is preparing for the upcoming Presidential elections starting January 15th. While we pray for a peaceful season, we must act with wisdom and preparation to protect the children and staff at Living Hope.
The Funding Gap: We might have funds coming at the end of January, but the need is immediate. We must stock our stores and secure our medical and power needs before January 15th to ensure our gates can remain safely closed during any period of unrest.
Our Goal: $4,500 for "Project Preparedness”

Why Your Support is Needed NOW (The Data): As a Historian, I have analyzed the risks based on previous election cycles (2016 and 2021). Here is why we cannot wait:
Logistical & Bank Shutdowns:Historically, internet shutdowns and bank holidays have lasted for several days, making digital transfers and cash withdrawaelidk
ls impossible. We need cash on hand before the 15th.
Supply Chain Inflation: Prices for food and fuel typically spike by 20-30% in the week leading up to the election due to panic-buying. Bulk buying now saves the ministry thousands of dollars.
Security Precaution: By having 3 months of food on-site, Another Hope minimizes the need for staff to travel during high-tension periods, keeping them safe from potential civil unrest.
A Personal Memory of Resilience: I will never forget the election period when our daughter Esme was less than a month old. We had just welcomed her into our family through adoption, and the city was in turmoil. I remember the terror of having to risk everything—navigating through tear gas and the sound of gunshots—just to find milk for her.
As Esme prepares to celebrate her 15th birthday this March, we are determined that no child at Another Hope will ever have to face that kind of hunger or danger again.
