The primary mission of C-AID is to help people achieve a sustainable development and healthy lifestyle by providing opportunities to participate in sports and physical activity, and empower them improve their own health through health education. The organization was established with the following objectives to achieve its vision and mission. a) To raise awareness about communicable and non-communicable diseases for at-risk population and communities. b) To promote participation in sports and encourage healthy lifestyles that include physical activity and healthy eating. c) Advocate for sustainable agricultural systems which are economically profitable and protective of ecosystems. d) To enhance environmental protection through sustainable development, climate change and biodiversity conservation. e) Build capacity of individuals, institutions and communities, to sustain development initiatives. f) To educate the community on relevant social and economic issues such as human rights and women empowerment. What We Do:
Since 2012, C-AID has worked to make quality and sustainable health care available for people in communities we serve. Our work includes educating the public to raise awareness on chronic diseases such as heart diseases and diabetes and sports coaching and providing sports equipment through donated balls. C-AID’s programs in Mbarara have encompassed work and school-based wellness programs, peer education, community mobilization in support of health initiatives, local government clinics, home visits for the physiotherapy, and sports programmes.
