In Isingiro, we have seen how something as simple as learning shoe making can completely change a young person’s life

It gives hope. It gives confidence. It gives someone a chance to earn, support their family, and believe in their future again.

Sometimes change doesn’t start with big things. It starts with a skill, a willing heart and an opportunity.

That’s what Skills for Change is all about.

Through the , we have equipped young women with tailoring startup kits transforming skills into opportunity and ambition into income. What began as training is now becoming real livelihoods.

These tools represent more than just equipment. They symbolize independence, dignity and the confidence to build a better future.

When we invest in practical skills, we don’t just empower individuals. We strengthen entire communities.

Meet Tamari Nansasira:

In 2024, Tamari of Kigando 1 started her journey with just a few chickens and a big vision.

What began as a small-scale effort transformed into a big enterprise when stepped in providing the critical support of additional birds and poultry feeds to scale her operations.

Today, her business is growing. Tamari has successfully expanded. With each bird selling for 30,000 UGX, she has turned a modest start into a sustainable livelihood.

Happy International Women’s Day!

This weekend, we honor all women worldwide while acknowledging the systemic barriers that continue to stand in their way and celebrating the girls we work with who are growing into the women who will lead tomorrow.

It’s Women’s Month but let us talk about the baseline. 🌸

We have officially entered Women’s Month 2026 and while the tributes are beautiful, the conversation needs to go deeper than appreciation.

Respect is not a “gift” we give to women in the workplace or our communities. It is the baseline they are owed. Protection from harassment and GBV is not a "favor" it is a fundamental human right.

This month, under the themes of "Give to Gain" and "Rights. Justice. Action.", We are challenging my network to move beyond the hashtags:

📌Are women safe to speak up without retaliation? 🛡️
📌 Are we moving from "mentorship" to active "sponsorship"? 📈
📌 Are we supporting the systems that protect survivors? ⚖️

Let us make this March about more than just a calendar flip. Let us make it about sustainable change.

GIRLS BELONG IN SCHOOLS NOT IN MARRIAGES. 📚

It is time to return agency to our girls and protect their right to grow, learn and become change makers in our communities. Together, we can end the cycle of trauma and build a brighter future.
Let us together. 💪

We are building foundations and breaking dependence that keeps young people and youth in

From liquid soap making and baking to craft shoe making, we are equipping our youth with more than just trades—we are giving them a seat at the table.

These aren’t just small ventures; they are the roots of self-reliance. When you have a skill in your hand, you stop waiting for help and start creating your own future. 🧼🍞👞
Skills don’t die. They build homes and local businesses.
