YDI started as a Nursery bed project in 2013 by a group of 3 agricultural finalists of Bishop Stuart University as a way of job creation with little pocket money savings and some small handouts from parents by giving services to people through raising and selling of good quality seedlings, project planning and management, marketing of agricultural produce in Mbarara district. Later the project o

ffered consultancy in tree planting and management, advisory for both crops and livestock which raised some capital for the expansion of the project. In 2016 it was registered as a Community Based Organization (REG NO: 3479) for youth livelihood improvement through agriculture; crop and livestock value chains in Mbarara district South Western Uganda.
