Family Savings and Loan is a Non-profit organization that support refugee to improve low incomes and alleviating poverty through loans and projects/business plan and providing minimum financial assistance for the development. Since our founding in2019, we have learned that refugee’s need and priorities are important, but they are not exposed to many solutions that they could benefit from. Often po
or refugee families have low social capital, in other words they are not able to access financial services from the formal banking sector because they cannot meet the requirement given for the loans as they do not possess securities which is one of the rigid requirements of banks. We therefore bring the refugee’s need and priorities to the forefront and support them in improving the low incomes and alleviating poverty through simple loans and viable projects/business plans and enterprises besides providing minimum financial assistance for the development to help solve the challenges (problems). To achieve this, we operated a savings programme in an integrated self-sustaining manner. This means that in order to access the credit from us, you must be a member and saving with us. The main objective of the Association is to provide easy access of loans to its members.
