YOU ARE NOT A LESSER BEING - 2

Shepherd's Voice Daily Devotion
October 2026, Day 4
With Pastor Tunde Taiwo

John 1:12
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” KJV

From the anchor scripture, do you notice the word received? The bible did not say, as many that have information, not even as many that have studied Theology or bible knowledge. That you are a CRE teacher doesn't mean you know Him; you have to receive Him. He may have knowledge, but he has not received Him. But as many as have received Him, to them He gave the power to become. What I am showing you now is your authority as a believer. Once you have received Him, you are a son; just believe in His name.

If somebody appears and says, Who are you, don't say, I am the son of ( your father's name) but rather, 'I am the son of God. Let me say something to you: when you walk in the consciousness of this identity, even in your dream, whenever there is a contention, that is where you will respond from, because that is where your spirit is. You will not be looking for what to say; you will not be saying 'tata we ', 'baba we ', or 'mama we '.

When God redeemed us, His intention was to give us back the dominion mandate that we lost. So you are not inferior. Say, 'I am not inferior!' Say it again and mean it from the depth of your heart. Christ cannot be in you, and you are inferior.

Further Scripture: Col 1:27-29

Action Point: Speak these words to yourself as many times as you can until they settle in your spirit. “I am not Inferior; I am Superior because Christ is in me.”

Prayer Point:
Lord, help my unbelief. Help me to always know that you are living on the inside of me; I am never alone, and therefore I function from a higher authority.

John 1:12
“But as many that have received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” KJV

You have been made to sit in heavenly places, "And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:" Eph. 2:6. That's where you operate from, and as a believer, you must walk in the consciousness of that space where you are coming from. Most of the time, we lose that consciousness as believers and children of the Most High God. And once anything happens, we start saying things that do not align with our position in Christ. In fact, most of our problems are those things we say in our unconsciousness. And that has landed many believers in trouble. Why? Because you are a spirit, the words you speak are spirit and life (John 6:63). Whatever you are saying, an angel is taking notice; they are either stamping it, approving it, or canceling something.

Somebody shared a poster on a pastor's platform, and it was titled 'The burden of ministry.' When you read through the post, it makes it look as if Pastoring is a burden. I said, ' No, not for me', I said to myself. 'Ministry is a blessing.' For example, the writer said that, among many things, financial betrayal, pressure, hatred, etc., from church members are ministry burdens. Now, that's how spirits enter people. Some pastors will identify with it as their position, and it will remain their experience. I told myself, no, I am loved. I am cherished. I can't have a financial burden. I am blessed. Glory to Jesus! You are a spirit entity; you are a believer with so much authority that God has given to you. You are not a lesser being. Somebody say, 'I have authority!' Say, 'Satan, you can’t mo**st me because I am of a superior authority!' Halleluyah!

You are not a lesser being; John 1:12 says that to as many as believed, he gave them power. It's called the power of attorney; if I give you the power of attorney over a property, that means whatever you want, you can do with the property. I am not inferior; I am made in the image of God.

Further Scripture: Eph 2:6

Action Point: Always be conscious of who you are as a believer, no matter the prevailing circumstances.

Prayer Point: Lord, I request for mercy for the times I have unconsciously spoken negativity into existence in my life.

Psalm 82:6-7
“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.” KJV

Some believers have this tendency to come before God who has created them, as a people who are lesser or not worthy because of their perception. Permit me to say this to you; there is nothing you are going to do, that you have done, or that you will do that will make you perfect before God. He has made us perfect in Christ, and you are called to receive the package. Perfection is not something we can achieve by doing or being; it is something we receive by faith. It is not by works, lest any man boast. The bible says that our righteousness is like a filthy rag before him. (Isa 64:6) But despite what Scripture says, most of the time we come with our own righteousness; we don’t lay hold of his own righteousness.

If I give you a gun that is loaded with bullets and I tell you this gun can fire 20 rounds, and somebody shows up and tells you it's a toy gun, and then he challenges you to fire it and see if it will work, will you choose to believe him? He says to you, " Throw it away and then hand over a toy to you in place of the gun; that's what has happened to most of our faith. As a believer, you must know your identity.

Many believers have an identity crisis; many of you have ended up defining your Christian faith and life by what you are experiencing, NOT by what the word of the Lord said from the finished work of Christ.

Jesus died for our sins; there’s no other atonement. You can choose to do 70 days of fasting, but it won't cleanse your sin; it's a finished work on the cross. He said it is finished, and not that it’s about to be finished. Some of us go to prayer as if it were about to get finished. That's why He says, come boldly to the throne of grace. (Heb 4:16)

I don't know who God is speaking to; stop saying I have tried, God is not looking at your trying. He has never measured us by our good works. That's why the Bible says it is not of works, lest any man boast. (Eph 2:9) We are saved by grace, and we carry the DNA of God. How do you see yourself? A slave, servant, sinner, or a child of God?

Further Scripture: Heb 4:16, Eph 2:9-10

Action Point: As a believer, discover your real identity from the word of God.

Prayer Point: Father, please forgive me for the times I have defined myself by my life experiences and not by your word and what Christ has done for me.

WHO IS A BELIEVER

Shepherd's Voice Daily Devotion

With Pastor Tunde Taiwo

Ephesians 1:18
“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,” KJV

Today, let me start by asking us: Who is a believer? And what makes you a believer? I know there are some narratives we can give to these questions, but let me begin by saying that there are several things that don't make you a believer. Belonging to a house of worship or house of bo***ge doesn't make you a believer. Now you are asking, Pastor, what is a house of bo***ge? There is a place called the house of bo***ge. In fact, there are several houses of bo***ge that are tagged as 'houses of worship.' Identifying with the house of worship, serving in a house of worship, giving offerings, using Christian words, acquiring a degree in theology, having a Christian name like Sarah, Israel, Peter, Moses, Faith mention them doesn’t make you a believer. In fact, I know somebody who went to school to study Christian religious knowledge and was an occultist.

Who is a believer? A believer is someone who confesses with their mouth, number two doesn't assume in their heart, but they believe that Jesus truly died; in fact, their testimony is that he died and rose again. A believer is someone who has confessed with their mouth and believes in their hearts that Jesus died; he went to Calvary; he took my sin and your sin away. If you believe that he died and he rose from the dead, then you are a believer. If you don't believe it, you can't be saved. I don't know how many people are reading this devotion today who are not saved and you are saying, 'Papa, is it really true that he died?' If you are still doubting it, you are not saved unless you believe with your heart and you confess with your mouth. (Rom 10:9.)

The next time you meet somebody, ask them Are you a believer? If they say yes, ask them how they know they’re believers. They will tell you it’s because they go to a Pentecostal church. Even if a pastor prays for you and you fall under the anointing, it doesn't make you a believer. Please take out time and listen to a message I preached sometime back titled 'Who is a Christian' on the YouTube channel: Pastor Tunde Taiwo; it will give more light on who a believer truly is.

Further Scripture: Rom 10:9-11

Action Point: Examine your heart to know if you truly are a believer, and if the answer is No, make up your mind today to believe in Christ, for he is our true source of Identity.

Prayer Point: Dear Lord, I believe in you; may your grace sustain me in salvation. Amen

HOW TO REMAIN FOCUSED

Shepherd's Voice Daily Devotion
September 2026, Day 30
With Pastor Tunde Taiwo

Hebrews 12:2
"Keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne," (HCSB)

To start a journey when you don’t know where you are going is dangerous and disastrous. You must know what you want; you must know where you are going. Have a strong determination, because you will be distracted. The strength of your determination is measured by the depth of your conviction. To remain focused, disconnect from the past; there are friends and places you must cut off from (2 Kings 2:1). If you don’t cut them off, they will cut you off from your goals.

Every one of us must contend with the same forces Elisha contended with to achieve our goals in life. To actualize your vision or dreams, you must remain focused on the set goals; never shift your focus from your goals; set your eyes on your goal (goal post). Concentrate on your goals (not others’ goals) by applying the principle of the mother hen. Go watch her posture when she is hatching; it’s the posture of a thinker, a prayer position. Don’t give up; those who give up don’t go up.

In addition, be resolute, consistent, and constantly review your goals; avoid unnecessary comparison; it will stagnate your motion. When it gets challenging, you can adjust or change the plan but not the goals. Est 4:15; 5:1-4. Spend more time doing what you have determined to do because at the end of the road you become what you have spent time doing, not what you spent time wishing for. Choose friends that are walking the path you are going. Lastly, engage in things and with people that will propel you to achieve your goals.

FURTHER SCRIPTURE: Esther 5:1-3

ACTION POINT:
Be resolute, consistent, and constantly review your goals to remain on track.

PRAYER POINT:
Oh Lord, I commit all my plans and goals for the rest of this year and the future into your hands. Grant me the resilience to remain on course.

WORD ENCOUNTER WEDNESDAYS.
You are welcome to fellowship with us this Wednesday evening at 6:00pm On ground here at the Eagles Center Church Uganda in Mbarara, Kampala, Gulu and Online and experience the the Word, the Worship and the Power.

CHOOSE TO BE FOCUSED

Shepherd's Voice Daily Devotion
September 2026, Day 29
With Pastor Tunde Taiwo

Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (KJV)

To be focused is to simply fix one’s mind or give undivided attention to a course or a subject. We have several people with goals that were never achieved, and the reason is simply BROKEN FOCUS. Mike Murdock says "Men fail in life because of broken focus=Broken Vision" The inability to settle long is responsible for the many failed projects. You can’t be a goalkeeper, a skipper, and the defender at the same time. You will end up a nobody.

It’s been reported by researchers that the attention span of an average adult is reducing because of the several devices we have around us. This will have a grave implication on your productivity, effectiveness, and overall output. Only men who are focused can become the focus.

As you journey through time, if you want to drive your dream to the finishing line, you must remain focused. Focus on your mission, assignment, calling, goal, etc. Elisha was on a mission for the double portion, but has forces he must contend with in order to achieve his goal. The internal force is the force of self: desires, emotions, weakness e.t.c, forces that can only be conquered through contentment, discipline, and determination.

The second is the external force: those in and around your space ( what, who, and where you expose your mind to is a major force in achieving your goals). We saw through the scriptures how the other sons of the prophet did everything to dissuade Elisha from his mission. The company of the prophets at Jericho went up to Elisha and asked him, “Do you know that the LORD is going to take your master from you today?” “Yes, I know,” he replied, “so be quiet.” 2Kings 2:5. Elisha remained focused; he chose his words and stayed on course. Men on a mission speak few words, not for want of time, but because it helps you to stay focused. The next time someone is trying to distract you. Tell them to hold your peace; it means to keep quiet about it.

Further scripture:
2king. 2:1-13

Action Point:
What are those things you have set out to do before this year ends? Decide today to remain focused on your goal.

Prayer point.
I silence every voice of distraction and I pray Lord that you will grant me grace to remain focused on my journey in Jesus' name.

YOU NEED STAMINA FOR THE RACE

Shepherd's Voice Daily Devotion
September 2026, Day 28
With Pastor Tunde Taiwo

1Samuel 30:6
“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” (KJV)

Who are the people who wanted to stone David? These are the people he laboured on, trained and raised as his army; his own sons and daughters in the Lord. They picked up stones, and they were going to Stone him. How can a demotivated man motivate himself? David was demotivated, but still had the sustaining power to take the same people with him into battle; how?
When the very people you trusted and spent so much energy and resources on don't believe in you or turn against you, don't beat yourself. In life, you can be pushed to a point where it appears as if nobody believes you; please believe in yourself. Yeah!! The worst thing you can do to yourself is not to believe in yourself. To sustain your walk with God and your vision, you must believe in yourself. David refused to be demotivated; he believed in himself and drew divine supply: stamina for total recovery. You will recover all in Jesus ' name.

There are some of you; the past few months were a journey of tests, trials, and temptations, and you ask, 'Why is my life like this? You see people share testimonies; they say this is what the Lord has done. You know deep down, you don't even have anything to say, but it’s just that you cannot say the Lord is bad. At this particular moment, it may appear as if there's nothing for you to say. Don't be discouraged; God is taking you through the route to your testimony. What you need is sustaining grace, yes, because whatever you say at the point of incubation will either activate your miracle or abort it.

If you read through that passage, "And David recovered all that ... (1 Sam 30:18 KJV)." David pursued the enemies and recovered everything that was stolen; imagine if he didn't draw the stamina to pursue. You will pursue and recover all in Jesus' Name.

Further reading:
PSM. 46:1-3

Action Point:
Stay strong, draw stamina from God, and wait for your testimony.

Prayer point
Lord, give me sustaining grace for my journey ahead in Jesus' name.

STRENGTH FOR THE RACE -2

Shepherd's Voice Daily Devotion
September 2026, Day 27
With Pastor Tunde Taiwo

Psalm. 28:7
The LORD is my strength, and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. (KJV)

What is that thing that sustains a man when nothing seems to be working? When your best produces the least, and you are sure it is the way to go, but it seems like nothing is working. How can you draw the stamina to sustain your vision, walk, and work with God? If you need stamina to sustain your walk with God, you must understand the place of communion with Elshadai. Communion with God means to have or maintain an intimate, consistent, and unbroken fellowship with God; It is these processes that, when you consistently engage in them, you gain stamina that will sustain you in your Christian journey.

Three moves that must take place simultaneously in your place of communion with the Father are: Worship, Meditation, and Communication. When you say, " Father, I thank you for today, I thank you for the gift of life, I thank you for the peace in our nation; there are some places where there is no peace, crisis left and right. So you worship Him, you magnify His Name, you thank Him for the salvation of your soul. In between your acts of worship, in kind or by sacrifices, you trigger a communication in the spirit. The Joy of the Lord is my strength; that is to say that whenever I bring pleasure to the Father, I draw strength; when I worship, the Father is happy, and I gain momentum to keep the fire. I gain stamina for the task ahead in worship.

Communication is vital as these processes take place. You don't go to God and say, 'Oh Lord, good morning Lord' and move on to roll out your wants and needs. Your communion with God is not a visit to a grocery store or an online order where you pay for goods and get them at delivery. You don't do that. You can't do that!! Even when you wake up at home, those of you who have children, or you have friends, or you're married, or whichever relationship it is, when you say good morning, there's a response; that's communication. So where there is no interaction or response, it is not communication. We draw sustaining grace in the place of communion

Further reading:
John 15:7

Action Point:
Maintain close Communion with God. That's the only way you will draw stamina for your journey.

Prayer Point:
Father, I want to draw from you continually. Give me grace that will help me sustain my journey with you.
