What This Means — Reality Behind the Smoke

Security forces appear to treat peaceful campaign rallies by the opposition as threats, using excessive force — live bullets, tear gas, water cannons — even when supporters are unarmed and unprovoking.

Violence on this scale against civilians demonstrates a clear strategy of intimidation: to scare people away from popular mobilization and silence dissent ahead of elections.

The fact that people still gather under such threats shows massive courage, resolve, and popular support for change. The state’s violence only underscores how afraid it is of the people’s united voice.

Each shooting, each tear-gas canister, each broken protestor becomes evidence — a testimony that must be recorded, shared, and amplified. The world should know what’s happening.

The Real Reason Uganda Is Becoming a Proxy Battleground"

Uganda is not in danger because of tribes, religion, or politics.
The real power struggle is foreign interests fighting for influence over minerals, borders, trade routes, and military positioning.
Museveni sells loyalty to the West. Others sell loyalty to the East.
Meanwhile ordinary Ugandans become casualties in a game they never agreed to play.
This truth is not taught in schools, not shown on TV, and not written in newspapers.
But it must be told — because awareness is the first step to survival.

Show them that power without conscience is just cowardice in uniform.
And who decided that civilians must stay silent before officers who stopped thinking for themselves—following orders without reason like machines of fear?

Uganda: Military Courts for Opposition, Civil Courts for Rebels — The Regime's Double Standard

In Uganda today:

Joseph Kony’s commanders are not tried in military courts.

ADF leader Jamil Mukulu, arrested in Tanzania and extradited, is being tried in Uganda’s civilian courts.

But:

Opposition supporters, especially from the National Unity Platform (NUP) — civilians — are forcibly disappeared, tortured, and dragged before military tribunals.

This is not justice.
It is weaponization of military courts to crush political dissent.

To international allies, investors, and human rights defenders: You fund this regime.
You shake hands with it.
You call it stable.

But you ignore the blatant abuse of human rights and the collapse of rule of law.
Is it democracy when civilians are tried by soldiers?
Is it peace when political opposition is criminalized?

Silence makes you complicit.
Stand with the oppressed — not the oppressors.

Young recruits often join the army with hope and pride, eager to serve and build a better future for themselves and their families. Their first paycheck feels like real progress. But over time, many realize the reality:

Being tools in a political machine rather than defenders of the people.

Career stagnation or forced retirement without meaningful pension or support.

Exposure to corruption, bad habits, and disillusionment—including alcohol abuse, theft, and moral decline.

A growing sense that their sacrifices mainly preserve an oppressive status quo that doesn’t serve their communities.

This is a form of systematic burnout and social control: by keeping soldiers busy with internal security duties or petty corruption, regimes prevent them from questioning or rebelling. When their usefulness declines, they are discarded, often left vulnerable and forgotten.

Museveni now preaches Parish Development Model in Rwenzori but we haven't forgotten the bloodshed in Kasese, the arrested king, and silenced youth. No true development without justice.
