Young women continue to face significant barriers to meaningful participation in leadership and decision-making spaces, particularly on issues affecting their SRHR , Bodily Autonomy and Choice.
To address this gap, Women With A Mission (WWM) conducted a leadership training for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aimed at equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and practical leadership skills needed to become effective advocates and change agents within their communities.
The training strengthened participants' understanding of leadership principles, communication, public speaking, advocacy, teamwork, and ethical decision-making while fostering self-confidence and resilience..
Through this training, AGYW will be empowered to take up leadership roles at National and District levels Communities, and youth-led structures, enabling them to influence policies and decisions making processes.
The training has created a platform for peer learning, mentorship, and networking, inspiring participants to champion gender equality, challenge harmful social norms, and advocate for improved access to comprehensive SRHR, HIV information and services.
By investing in young women's leadership, WWM seeks to nurture a new generation of informed, confident, and influential leaders committed to advancing gender equality, social justice and sustainable community development.
