Bex Henderson, the LOVED Founder is putting her shoes on to run the London marathon next year on behalf of LOVED.

We are aiming to raise as much money as possible to support children with severe malnutrition. A donation of £7 would enable us to provide milk for a whole month for a child who is overcoming malnutrition!

Please give on the link below if you are able to:

First pair of school shoes..

This week, 20 of our children are moving up to school. The majority of the kids came into the day centre at under a year old, struggling with malnutrition and various complex family needs.

The team at LOVED have invested so much time and love, to ensure that each of these kids have been able to survive malnutrition and thrive in a supported family.

We are SO excited for them to join nursery school and we will be closely following their progress with JENGAs education team!

The most exciting part, is that we now have capacity for 20 new children to join LOVEDs day centre. Our welfare team have been working tirelessly to identify the most vunerable children and we have over 20 babies and toddlers on our waiting list.

We are currently looking for 19 new sponsors, to support a child at £15 a month (which covers nutritious meals, physiotherapy, medication and parents skills trainings.) Incase you are interested to find out more, please drop us a message.

Yesterday was an amazing day.

LOVED Childrens Centre Hosted their annual party to celebrate children with disabilities in our community. We had interactive games, inspirational speeches, a special cake as well as breakfast and lunch for every family.

Each child went home with a gift and their parents went home with more knowledge on how to love and care for their childrens needs.

With over 270 people in attendance (130 of which were children) we call it a huge success! Watch this 1 minute video to see some of the JOY!

Read about our story below:

After three years living and working with the JENGA CDO within Namatala,Uganda I reached a point where I had seen too much of the hardship that families face daily not to do anything about it. Mothers in the extreme depths of poverty who have to go to the street every day to try to find rotting food to feed their children, or to beg or work long hard hours in the sun but yet still not earning enough money to cover the food, rent and needs of their children.

Mothers who have no option but to leave their 6 month old with a sibling of 4 years old for the entire day without food. Siblings who are then unable to play with their friends or attend school because they are ‘responsible’ for keeping their baby safe. I have seen heartbreaking situations where these children under 3 years old have died of malnutrition, or the siblings have been beaten to death for not being able to take proper care of a baby. Mothers who then understandably resort to drinking to numb their fear that they are unable to provide for their children.
