When we wrap our arms around a vulnerable child, we wrap our arms around the future. We whisper hope to their hearts and light a fire that will guide them home. In their eyes, we see the reflection of our shared humanity and the promise of a world redeemed by love and compassion.

Term 3 opens on September 14th, and 276 vulnerable children will return to Empathy Community High School eager to learn — but an empty stomach makes that so much harder. Our daily breakfast program is what allows our students to stay fed, alert, and fully present for every lesson this term.

It costs about $95 a day to feed all 276 students, and across 60 school days this term, that totals roughly $5,700. We've made good progress, but we're still $3,700 short of covering it in full — a gap that closes only when our community of supporters steps in. For many of our students, this meal is the one certainty in their day, and it makes all the difference in their ability to focus, take part in class, and simply keep showing up.

As this new term begins, we're turning to our donor community for help sustaining this program without any gaps. At ECHS, no student should ever have to pick between going hungry and getting an education. 💙

As Term 3 begins on September 14th, 276 vulnerable children at Empathy Community High School will walk back through our gates ready to learn but learning is hard on an empty stomach. Our daily breakfast program keeps our students fed, focused, and present in the classroom every school day this term. And it's working: academic performance at ECHS has improved by 40%, proof that when students are properly nourished, they truly thrive in the classroom.

Feeding 276 students each morning costs roughly $95 across this term's 60 school days, which adds up to about $5,700; we are $3,700 away from reaching our goal — a real number, but one made possible when a community of donors comes together behind it. For many of our students, this meal is the most reliable part of their day, and it directly shapes how well they can concentrate, participate, and stay in school.

As we start this new term, we're asking our donor community to help us keep this program running without interruption. No child at ECHS should have to choose between an empty stomach and a full day of learning. 💙

A reliable breakfast is a foundation for everything else that happens at Empathy Community High School a school established to help vulnerable children acquire education. 276 students receive that foundation each morning through the school’s feeding programme.

The programme reduces barriers, improves outcomes, and communicates care. It continues only with ongoing support.

At Empathy Community High School, one of our most urgent unfinished projects isn't a classroom or a library, it's something far more basic: a proper latrine block.
Right now, sanitation facilities for our 276 students are limited, and that's a serious problem, especially for our girls. Across Uganda, inadequate school sanitation is one of the leading reasons girls miss school or drop out entirely, particularly once they reach adolescence. We're determined not to let that happen at ECHS.
Constructing a proper latrine block means giving every student access to clean, private, dignified facilities, something so many people take for granted, but something that can determine whether a child stays enrolled through graduation.

This project isn't glamorous, but it's essential, and we need your help to finish it.

Our students deserve a safe, dignified place to use the washroom.🚻

At Empathy Community High School, our student toilet and washroom block is still incomplete. The walls are up and the doors are fitted, but there is no roof, the plumbing is not connected, and the floors are unfinished. Term is already underway, and our 276 students are struggling to use it in its current state.

Completing this 14-stall facility, roofing, plumbing, , electrical work, and finishing — will cost $7,320 altogether.

This is not a small thing. Proper sanitation is about health, safety, and the basic dignity every child deserves. We cannot let our students go without it any longer.
