Masaka Green Light Impact Programme [MAGLIP] is a local community based organisation [CBO] registered by the Community Development Department of Masaka Municipality under the community registration number CD/MMC/205/2012. MAGLIP was started in a humble way in 2005 as a small organisation. It was started by a group… committed people who realised the need to bring together people’s voluntary efforts

and initiative with the aim empowering their communities to improve their standards of living socially, economically and other human aspects. MAGLIP transformed it’s self in 2012 and got registered as a Community Based Organisation[CBO]. MAGLIP has since its inception grown from a mere small organisation to a larger and bigger organisation whose membership is composed of largely village workers, community members, business men, civil servants to mention. The Uniqueness and a strong point of MAGLIP is that it’s a Faith Based Organisation affiliated to the Muslim fraternity. This provides the faith based approach of undiscriminating for quality service delivery. On addition it is well composed leadership, structure, local ownership and the grass root service delivery. MAGLIP has village workers [volunteers] who are strategically placed in the parishes and villages and are in daily close contact with the vulnerable community they serve. ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT


MAGLIP has managed to strengthen its administration and management, in 2012, a full board of Directors was constituted to the capacity of 12 members, the programme manager and other support staffs of MAGLIP has been recruited to strengthen the work of MAGLIP. On addition, MAGLIP has managed to put a number of policies in place to strengthen her management, these include,

The governing constitution,
The human Resource Policy,
The HIV/AIDS work policy etc
The financial policy and regulation
The child protection policy,
The volunteers’ service policy
Still on the administration and management, MAGLIP has been able to secure a community based organisation certificate from Masaka municipality
MAGLIP has also managed to open and launch her website to enable all interested people to get access to MAGLIP, the website address is www.maglip.webs.com


MAGLIP has managed to secure a good sounding well furnished office for conducting her work; the office is located in Masaka town on Kayondo Plaza Plot 6 Room 23 first floor. On addition to this office MAGLIP has also secured a field office in Kimanya where there is a tree planting project, office running equipments like computer and other accessories have been acquired and put in place to ease the work of MAGLIP office.
