The school was founded in 2010 by Arthur Mubiru, who himself grew up as an orphan under very sad living conditions. In the village of Kawoko, where Arthur and his family live, most of the children are now able to go to school, as the parents (if both are still alive), guardians, grandparents or relatives are too poor to finance the education of their children. The daily wage is less than 1 US Doll
ar. State schools, as we know them in Europe, can hardly be found there. Also, Arthur takes orphans to his school, that he finds on the streets and gives them accommodation, meals, school education, pays for medical costs, etc. To give the orphans accommodation he rents 2 rooms beside the school. Uganda has one of the largest orphan population per capita of any country in the world (especially because of AIDS). Arthur's motto is "The little we can, we must do". You can help with your donation, which flows directly to Arthur:
- A nutritious ration of hot food per day for every child (often there is no food for the children at home)
- School uniform per child (many children do not have a second set of clothing and no shoes)
- Purchase of schoolbooks and school materials
- Sufficient seating and desks for the children in the classrooms
- Renovation of classrooms
- Humane toilets and washing facilities
PS: And here is the connection to the sexual abused children because of school fees in Uganda: The children who are suffering the most terrible crime which can be inflicted on a child, They contact Arthur Mubiru and ask for help because they trust them. We are trying to help them, and also children who are at high risk of being sexually abused, through the payment of their school fees (most schools in Uganda are private!) and basic needs as food, accommodation, medical care, etc. If there are no family members to take care of them, we take the girls and boys out of their toxic environment and give them a safe home
