Dear Beloved Mothers, Wives to our brothers in Christ, Sisters, and Daughters of the Lord,
I am writing to you from Uganda, Africa, where your love reaches even though some of you, your feet may never have touched this soil.
Some of you are mothers who birthed and raised us in faith. Some of you are wives who stand beside the brothers in Christ whose husbands are standing with us in this mission. Some of you are widows whose husbands once sponsored us but are now with the Lord in heaven. Some of you are the mothers and women who stand with us daily and have become mothers to our orphan children. Some of you are mothers raising children alone, with no father present. Some of you are sponsors who have given once, given again, or given quietly in secret. And some of you have already gone home to be with Jesus, but your work still speaks here on earth.
Today, I want to speak to all of you as one family in Christ.
TO THE MOTHERS:
Thank you for teaching the world what sacrificial love looks like. Whether you raised children in your home or you mothered a mission in Africa, you have shown us that a mother’s heart never stops giving. You have prayed when we were weak, encouraged when we were tired, and believed when we doubted. Your prayers are the foundation under every outreach, every meal given, every soul that hears the name of Jesus here in Uganda.
TO THE MOTHERS RAISING CHILDREN ALONE:
We see you. You carry the weight of both mother and father, often with little help and even less recognition. You go without so your children can eat, you stay up praying when they are sick, and you keep believing when life is hard. In the Bible, God calls Himself the “Father to the fatherless” — and you are His hands and heart to your children. Your strength, your faith, and your love are a testimony to all of us.
TO THE WOMEN WHO ARE MOTHERS TO OUR ORPHAN CHILDREN:
You have taken children who had no mother and loved them as your own. You wipe their tears, pray over them, teach them, and show them what it means to be held and known. In you, these children see the face of Christ. You may not have birthed them, but you chose them, and that choice makes you their true mother. Heaven sees your sacrifice, and so do we.
TO THE WIVES STANDING WITH THE BROTHERS IN CHRIST WHOSE HUSBANDS ARE STANDING WITH US:
Thank you for carrying a burden the world does not see. To stand with a man of God is to share in late nights, sacrifices, and prayers that no one else hears. You are not behind the scenes — you are part of the work. Every Gospel crusade, every child fed, every Bible given here in Africa carries your fingerprints too, because you chose to stand, support, and believe. Africa calls you blessed.
TO THE WIVES WHOSE HUSBANDS ONCE SPONSORED US BUT ARE NOW IN HEAVEN:
We see you, and we honor you. Your husbands sowed seeds into this work with their hands, and you have kept those seeds alive with your prayers and your continued love. Though they are resting in the Lord, their legacy lives on in every soul saved here. You are the living link between their faithfulness and the fruit we see today. We promise you: we will not let their labor be in vain.
TO THE WOMEN WHO HAVE SPONSORED ONCE OR MANY TIMES:
Your giving is not forgotten. A single act of obedience can change a village. The food you sent, the money you gave, the prayers you prayed — they are seeds planted in African soil, and they are still growing. Some of the children you helped feed are now leading others to Christ. Heaven is keeping the record, and we on earth are keeping the memory alive.
TO THE WOMEN WHO HAVE GONE TO BE WITH THE LORD:
Though you are no longer with us physically, your legacy lives. The Gospel you supported is still moving forward. The children you loved are still being loved. On this Mother’s Day, we honor you, we thank God for you, and we promise to carry the work forward until we meet again in glory.
TO EVERY WOMAN IN THE WORLD READING THIS:
Whether you know us or not, whether you have given to our mission or not, you matter to God and you matter to us. A woman’s love reflects the heart of God in a way nothing else can. You are nurturers, intercessors, builders, and warriors in the Kingdom. The world may overlook you, but heaven does not.
From Uganda, Africa, we see you. We thank you. We bless you in the name of Jesus.
May the Lord repay every sacrifice you’ve made, seen and unseen. May He give you strength for your own journey, peace in your home, and joy that the world cannot take away. And may He allow us one day to meet those we never meet face to face and say: “Thank you. Because of you, Africa heard about Jesus.”
Happy Mother’s Day to every woman who carries the heart of Christ.
You are our mothers, our sisters, our partners, and our heroes.
