Today marked a meaningful and impactful celebration of World Oral Health Day by Yekko Foundation Uganda at Buwunga Full Gospel Church. The day was dedicated to reaching out to vulnerable members of the community with essential oral healthcare services and education.

Our team provided comprehensive oral health education, empowering individuals with knowledge on proper dental hygiene and preventive care. In addition, we offered a range of clinical services including tooth extractions, dental fillings, scaling and polishing, and provision of partial dentures to those in need. The smiles restored and the relief brought to many were truly heartwarming.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our valued partners—Lightwell Specialized Dentistry, St. Mary’s Dental Clinic, Icon Dental Supplies Ltd, Uganda Dental and Medical Supplies Ltd, and the President of Rotary Club of Masaka—for their unwavering support in making this outreach a success.

Special appreciation also goes to the dedicated staff of Yekko Dental Clinic Masaka for their commitment, teamwork, and compassion throughout the day.

Together, we are making a difference promoting healthy smiles and improving lives in our communities.

Today was a truly heartwarming and memorable day for our team. During one of our regular community dental outreach programs in Uganda, organized by Yekko Foundation Uganda, we had the privilege of restoring the smile of Mr. Dennis, a man whose story touched all of us.

We first met Mr. Dennis during a previous outreach where we were providing free dental services to the community. Like many people in rural areas, he had lost several teeth over the years and had been struggling with eating, speaking, and smiling confidently. The loss of his teeth had affected not only his health but also his self-esteem.

After examining him, our dental team promised that we would help him regain his smile. Today, that promise became a reality. Through dedication and teamwork, we successfully replaced Mr. Dennis’s missing teeth with a removable denture.

The moment he looked at himself in the mirror after the procedure was priceless. His face lit up with joy and gratitude. For the first time in many years, Mr. Dennis could smile freely again. He expressed how thankful he was to the team and shared how this new smile would change his daily life — from eating comfortably to interacting confidently with others.

Stories like Mr. Dennis’s remind us why we continue to carry out community dental outreaches. Restoring a smile is not just about teeth; it is about restoring dignity, confidence, and hope.

At Yekko Foundation Uganda, we remain committed to reaching underserved communities and transforming lives one smile at a time. Today Mr. Dennis smiled again, and that alone made the entire outreach worthwhile. 😊🦷

A Call for Support to Restore Our Dental Outreach Vehicle

For many years, Yekko Foundation Uganda has been committed to serving communities through free dental outreach programs across Uganda. Through these outreaches, we provide oral health education, tooth extractions, scaling and polishing, and other essential dental services to people who would otherwise have no access to dental care.

Our outreach vehicle has been the backbone of this mission, enabling our team to travel to remote communities and bring smiles back to many faces.

Unfortunately, our outreach car recently developed a serious engine problem, and the engine now needs to be replaced. The cost of a new engine is $1,000, which is currently beyond our financial capacity. Because of this challenge, we have temporarily stopped our regular dental outreach programs, leaving many communities without the dental care they depend on.

We are therefore appealing to kind-hearted individuals, friends, partners, and well-wishers to support us in raising $1,000 to purchase a new engine for our outreach vehicle so that we can resume serving communities across Uganda.

Your support will help restore hope, relieve pain, and bring healthy smiles to many people.
