ionally recognized human rights standards”. CORE VALUES:
UNITED ACTION FOR THE NEEDY has the following CORE VALUES:
i. We are Christian: The organization is a Christian organization based on international voluntary membership consisting of national and regional branches with sections and structures, backed by worldwide networks and affiliations, called on a mission for the needy and the youths

ii. Value for people: The organization gives priority to people before money, structure and systems because we all people are created and loved by God. Commitment to the poor: The organization relieves the poor from their suffering and to promote the transformation of their conditions and ways of life. We are stewards: The organization is faithful to the purpose for which resources are to be given and manage them in a manner that brings maximum benefit to the poor. Responsiveness: The organization responds to the life threatening emergencies where our involvement is appropriately needed. Partnership: The organization collaborates and partners with other international or regional institutions and organizations that transcend legal, structural and cultural boundaries. Social Justice and Equity - We work with The Needy and Youths to promote equality, dignity and a more just society, especially with regard to the poor and the marginalized. Gender and Diversity: -We work towards and promote respect for gender equality and diversity. The Organization at all times work towards the achievement of equity and gender parity in the designing of policies, programmes and in the allocation of resources. Accountability - The Organization holds itself and its members accountable to the highest level of ethical behavior and responsibility for its actions, while maintaining integrity in its performance. Collective Action and Responsibility – The Organization is, guided by its Mission and Vision, strive to promote joint action, cooperation and solidarity among its Members. Unity in Diversity - The Organization promotes unity amongst The Needy and Youths while celebrating, respecting, recognizing, and preserving diversity in the world


xii. Self-sufficiency - The Organization works towards the achievement of sustainable development outcomes. Transparency - UNITED ACTION FOR THE NEEDY at all times upholds full openness to its members, beneficiaries and partners, with respect to its processes, operations, actions and outcomes

xiv. Fair Dealing - UNITED ACTION FOR THE NEEDY is committed to the value of fair dealing and will not be party to exploitative arrangements that do not take cognizance of this value and that do not respect the rights of all parties and their target communities

xv. Participation - UNITED ACTION FOR THE NEEDY at all times aspire towards full, equal and meaningful involvement of its members and beneficiaries in the designing, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Organization’s policies and programmes, at all levels of decision making. Voluntarism and Service above Self – (a)UNITED ACTION FOR THE NEEDY at all times expects its members and employees to be primarily motivated by a compulsion and commitment to uphold human rights and a philanthropic spirit to serve the under privileged and not their own interests, financial or otherwise. (b) UNITED ACTION FOR THE NEEDY is guided by these Core values in all its transactions with all its members, employees, partners, collaborators and stakeholders. (c) UNITED ACTION FOR THE NEEDY brings these Core Values to the attention of all the categories of stakeholders mentioned above at the earliest opportunity. (d) UNITED ACTION FOR THE NEEDY reserves the right to refuse to enter into any agreement or commitments or to withdraw from existing agreements, which violate its core values. (e) The General Assembly may, on the recommendation of the Board, add Values as it deems fit or remove any Value listed above that is deemed to no longer represent the values of UNITED ACTION FOR THE NEEDY

OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION
Main Objectives
1) To Offer global humanitarian help for the needy and the youths regardless of their race or nationality;
2) To provide orphans and the needy with a caring, loving, and secure family environment where basic needs for health, clothing, shelter and education are met squarely.
3) To provide quality training, both formal and vocational to orphans and the needy children regardless of creed, s*x, race, religion, tribes or nationality.
4) To create a comfortable conducive environment and dependable alternative family life and peaceful home for the orphans and other socially disadvantaged children.
5) To provide a place for the children in need of love, care, and protection
6) To provide education up to high school/secondary and sponsorship for university and vocational training for orphans and the disadvantaged
7) To prepare children to be self reliant, dependant, thinking individuals becoming positive, active and contributing members of the community.
8) To teach honor and respect of oneself, other people and God.
9) To offer orphaned abandoned, deaf and destitute children shelter and permanent home, regardless of their race creed, solely, according tot their need.
10) To provide education up t senior/high school and sponsorship for University and Vocational training for orphans and the disadvantaged.
11) To advance community welfare including the relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, or disability;
12) To assist in the development and advancement of poor communities through helping them invest their human and financial resources in the most efficient ways so that they become self reliant.
13) To provide relief Aid in cases of wars, natural disasters, epidemics, famines, and similar circumstances;
14) The Organization shall aim at providing basics for the needy such as; food, clothing, medicine, and shelter among others;
15) To seek and promote the rights of orphans and street children
16) To support the poor, aged, and deprived in their education and health needs
17) To bring up and build the orphans in the knowledge of God’s word and fear of God
18) To seek and cater for the welfare of the orphans and the aged in the society
19) To construct, establish, manage and administer Orphanages, schools, Hospitals, rehabilitation/community centers and any other infrastructures which may incidental or conducive to the attainment , promotion and fulfillment of the Organizations’ Vision, Mission and the aims and objectives.
20) To promote civic responsibility or voluntary work and increase understanding of voluntary practices through studying voluntarism and philanthropy in order to promote public awareness on voluntarism and attract volunteers to share in its noble activities;
Specific Objectives
1) To work in Coordination and cooperation with local and other international organizations in humanitarian work of mutual interest;
2) To support government institutions in reducing and preventing malnutrition and to improve the general development and health of children especially those in marginalized groups;
3) To build a protective environment in which children can live and develop in full respect of their fundamental rights;
4) To keep regional and country offices as well as partners informed about emerging issues assist with the development of effective responses to these issues, as well as facilitate exchange and sharing of information, experiences and resources;
5) To participate and help to coordinate new regional and country initiatives aimed at reducing human trafficking;
6) To maintain a network of food aid and pharmaceutical products distribution to the needy and hunger stricken communities and war ravaged areas;
7) To react towards unexpected events in communities, this may require the intervention of the organization;
8) To advance community development, including rural or urban regeneration;
9) To work according to well designed plans and management system that is characterized by proper organization clarity of responsibilities and great flexibility;
10) To promote health, including the prevention or relief of sickness, disease or human suffering;
11) To advance conflict resolution or reconciliation;
12) To promote religious or racial harmony and harmonious community relations;
13) To advance the arts, culture, heritage or sciences;
14) To promote the integration of those who are disadvantaged, and the promotion of their full participation, in society;
15) To reduce on the number of children who are not in schools;
16) To collaborate with national and state governments and other partners in reduction of maternal, infants, and young child mortality;
17) To collaborate with national and state governments in developing and implementing a range of replicable models for sanitation, hygiene and water supply;
18) To do any other activity (ies), that may be conducive and incidental to the attainment, promotion and fulfillment of the organizations’ Vision, Mission, and the Aims and Objects
