To see young mothers and their babies come out of labour alive and well. Our FOCUS is:
• Community Development and Empowerment Programs, and
• Offering care and support to people affected and/or infected by HIV/AIDS and,
• Elderly group of people (50 years and above) by empowering them with vacation and life skills as well as making sure they can have access to health care and services just like the rest of the community.
• Basic needs (Food, Clothing and Shelter) and education (providing scholastic materials and having a community school in a log run) for the orphans (0-12years) and the poor children;
• Empowering adolescents and young mothers (13-19 years) by increasing awareness of the 3 delays of maternal and child health, empowering them with life and vocation skills, SBCC, Health care and services like SRHR, FP, reusable pads, HIV/AIDS, Maternal and child health and health camps, savings for later before and after giving birth in case they conceive by empowering them with saving skills like having saving boxes;
• Community and youth empowerment through SRHR, HIV/AIDS, advocacy and social enterprises;
• Promotion and protection of human rights in communities;
• Bringing people closer to the Almighty God by having a religious upbringing, especially young children;
Major Programs
HFU will realize its mission by reaching out to the members and/or communities through the extension of programs outlined below;
a) Addressing the 3 delays in maternal and child health. c) Helping the vulnerable communities (Elderly) in economic well-being. d) Public Health activities in communities
e) Training in Primary Health Care (PHC), HIV/AIDS issues
f) Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights. g) Advocacy
h) Equipping the young generation with vocational skills. i) Introduction of social enterprises to realize self-sustainability even without funds or grants to enable the organizational activities to run smoothly. j) Introduction of savings and investments at personal and household levels especially for mothers to have themselves a start in case they need basic needs while pregnant.
