Together we can achieve this. Organisation for Community Empowerment is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was founded by a group of educators, social scientists, and other determined individuals in 2015 who wanted to carry out human centered development interventions geared towards community transformation. OCE strives to use human rights based approaches to fight mass poverty, diseases,
and social injustices that are responsible for the perpetuation of HIV/AIDS, environmental degradation, food insecurity, and lack of access to education. OCE’s target areas include programs in health, education (formal and non-formal), socio-economic initiatives, safe water, sanitation, clean environment, gender equity, women empowerment and organisation capacity development. OCE works with the established structures such as Community Based Sustainable Development Volunteers (COBASUDEV), VHTs, paralegals at the sub county levels, the local government and its various departments and local councils, partner organizations, and individual household members on issues of environmental protection, quality education, health rights, disease control and prevention, food security, and poverty alleviation in Lyantonde, Ntungamo and Kabale Districts.
