Having survived the harsh street life as a teenager, Aloysious Kirangwa was rescued and sponsored to go to secondary school. While at school the idea born in him 2001 which he shared with his fellow friends the roommates gradually at personal level the young guys as they were did reach out counseling their age mates and small kids living on streets in Nyendo. It was here that he felt the desire to raise to a further level help young people in need especially those that suffered as he did when he was a street child.
Aloy started meeting local street children under a mango tree in Lukaya on a part time basis. as he was also still a student He gave them encouragement and basic literacy lessons. This was the start of HDCC.
