At CODEN Foundation of Uganda; we are aware of the fact that all human beings deserve to live a life of dignity and sufficiency because living with dignity and sufficiency gives hope. While improving Community welfare we focus a lot of attention on child and youth rights and welfare plus the limitations which hinder their realization. Community development limitations that we aim at combating incl
ude: Child rights abuses, problems faced by HIV/Aids infected and affected persons, orphans and vulnerability cases among the communities, unemployment among the youth, poor nutrition and hygiene, poor methods of waste management and sanitation, flooding, environment degradation and global warming, lack of information on Human and Sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR), high levels of commercial s*x workers (CSW), drug abuse, Petty commercial s*x, High school drop outs and dependence among others. CODEN Foundation undertakes upon itself the duty to restore hope to the vulnerable poor communities in its areas of operation and in so doing we are:
• Conscious of the need for togetherness and forming a collective effort in a bid to realize continuous development among ourselves and poor communities.
• Mindful of the importance of community mobilization to realize Community self sustainability.
• Aware and believing that it is only we, our selves who can understand better the approaches to our challenges and hindrance in the bid to achieve economic sustainability. Without discrimination, we cognizant that all available efforts in our means should be applied to reverse the undesired situations by instituting appropriate initiatives and systems with an aim of addressing the mentioned inhuman situations for the benefit of the communities in our spheres of operation. CODEN Foundation in full is Community Development and Environmental Foundation. Our vision is to see empowered marginalized communities living above the poverty line and equipped with more knowledge for sustainable development while also conserving the environment
Mission:
CODEN Foundation exists to enlighten, empower and engage all CODEN Foundation members and other Community members about better ways of improving general welfare and environmental conservation. OBJECTIVES:
They shall be these that follow here under.
• To become a platform aiming at transforming poor communities to move above the poverty line.
• To implement programs aimed at improving child and youth welfare and rights.
• To implement programs aimed at boosting house hold incomes of child minders through workshops for hand-on-skills, better financial management and income generating activities among others.
• To put a lot of emphasis on environmental protection.
• To spear head projects aimed at sensitization and providing awareness to the community on issues of: health, community sanitation, HIV/Aids, better parenting, good morals and Environmental conservation among others. AREA OF JURISDICTION
The first registered offices of CODEN Foundation are in Uganda. The organization can however may have branch offices in any part of the world and Uganda as may from time to time by the Executive Board. LEGAL STATUS:
CODEN Foundation is a Trust and can register with any law firm as determined by the B.O.D. MANAGEMENT:
