They came from Calamocha, Spain, to Kitega expecting to learn, share and experience community life.
Two weeks later, Esther, Martin, Marta and Valeria left carrying something much bigger: relationships, a new understanding of community, and a story about Uganda they had lived for themselves. 🇺🇬🇪🇸
For Martin, one lesson stood out: pole pole — slowly, step by step.
For the group, it was the strength of community, the joy found in everyday life, and the people who welcomed them into their homes and hearts.
They arrived as volunteers.
They left as friends, family and ambassadors.
Because sometimes the greatest impact of volunteering isn’t what you leave behind.
It’s what you carry home.
