Serving The Youth Uganda is a non-profit organization registered in Uganda. The organization was formed in 2016 with an aim of empowering young aspiring entrepreneurs in rural Uganda in a bid to create employment and consequently reduce poverty, and improve livelihood of the youth who compose 70% of the population of the Country. The organization supports young enterprising entrepreneurs with skil
ls, resources and product marketing to both local and international consumers. Serving The Youth Uganda is committed to empowering young and innovative entrepreneurs in Uganda through creating a platform that allows the youth to develop their entrepreneurial talents and subsequently uplifting their financial and social status in the community but in a long run leading to the development of their locality and the nation at large. The organization has a unique strategy of implementation that entails grass root entrepreneurship education and pro-poor enterprise development project plans to educate entrepreneurs in Northern Uganda. The bottom line behind this initiative is to alleviate poverty by encouraging the growth of pro-poor entrepreneurial businesses through education and business development initiative. brighter light Uganda selects enterprising poor youth of the community who are deprived of resources to kick start their viable and feasible plans. Upon selection of the enterprising youth of the community, the entrepreneurial idea is evaluated to determine its ability to produce results. Groups are then formed, trained and furnished with resources to facilitate their smooth operations. Finally, it is incumbent upon the organization to monitor and evaluate the initiatives to ensure that they succeed. Suffice to note is the fact that our programs are designed to help young entrepreneurs develop and grow their businesses through providing incentives required to support their worthy ambitions which in turn stimulates the economy. The organization does not provide finances but assist entrepreneurs to access full resources, network, knowledge and market for their products. In a nutshell, Northern Uganda is undoubtedly the poorest region in Uganda. Many young people are unemployed and do not have the required resources to engage in entrepreneurial activities. This therefore, compelled Serving The Youth Uganda to develop practical strategies of managing the situation through building a platform that supports and promotes entrepreneurship among the young people.
