Wisdoms Call Family Uganda (WCFU) is a christian NGO based in the region of Karamoja Northeastern Uganda. WCFU is mainly working with children who have been neglected and abandoned, street children and HIV/AIDS positive children. The region of Karamoja is a region that has been suffering wars, famine and general insecurity, leaving the region unstable and most families very poor and unable to cate
r for themselves. The problems in the society are many, and many times it becomes the children who are the victims even if they were not the ones creating the problems in the first place. By helping the children comes a big responsibility, in general, to sensitize the society and help the weak and vulnerable families too. WFCU has a project called “Children Ministry in Karamoja” putting a specific focus on helping the younger children. These are children in all kinds of situations. It can be orphans, children running away from home because of domestic violence, abandoned children, HIV/AIDS positive children, war effected children etc. Many of these children have ended up in the streets without anyone to protect and take care of them and many of them end up becoming thieves; prostitutes etc. at a very young age just in order to survive. They grow up without morals and without love. Childrens Ministry in Karamoja” take in these children and take full responsibility for them. This means, we give them food, medical care, we send them to school, we teach them basic life rules and morals, the word of God etc. Through Children Ministry in Karamoja WCFU seeks to give the children a new family and a safe place to be. We give the children a home away from home. Children Ministry in Karamoja, is also teaching the adults in the society on how to care for and support their children, helping the adults to organize in order to advocate for their rights etc. All this work is done by people who voluntarily work and support because of their heart to help and see a change. There is so much to do, but the means are small. We are calling upon every hand of help that you can offer us.
