The Bishop of Lira Catholic diocese, His Lordship Sanctus Lino Wanok ordains 11 new priests and nine (9) deacons.
He challenged the ordained ministers to practice what they preach and be servants of the sacraments.
He urged them to celebrate every mass reverently, passionately and with gratitude as though it were their first and last mass to celebrate!
The Bishop challenged the newly ordained; always be attentive to the poor, listen to them.
Be a shepherd,
Reconstruct broken marriages
Families burdened by poverty,
homeless children await you,
Children searching for hope after being abandoned by their parents are waiting for you.
The elderly who have been abandoned by their own children and now being called wizards and are residing under leaking huts with no one to care for them are waiting for you!
Patients who go to the hospital alone and have no attendants are waiting for you, and a list of troubling situations await you!
Listen to everyone, don't judge them, don't ask to know their religion, don't ask what their tribe is before you can help them, for, the ones you meet are the ones God wants you to serve.
I say to you, you are now sons of the Bishop. Now that your parents brought and handed you over to me, don't turn around one day and say no, you are now my sons and the people will call you "father" not caring about your real name.
This "father" name is not a title, it's a responsibility that symbolizes that everyone needs help from you the priest of God and you are a father that accompanies every human being!
Don't fear the Bishop because he is your father. Come and tell me where things are heard for you. Love your fellow priests and everyone else and the love will reign on you and on your work. Without love, you will have nothing to offer to the people waiting for you in the communities.
I argue you to remain by the side of Christ always. May God bless you! Ends Bishop Wanok!
