The purpose of this page is to allow members to be in contact with our project, have access to pictures and updates and have a format to be interactive and follow the growth of our project and the children. Many

of our members have visited Miryante so please feel free to post pictures or post on our wall! Miryante Community Centre is a non-profit organization that provides funding and services for a number of projects including Miryante Foster Care Program and St. Gyavira Buyende Home. These projects cater for orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda through a foster-care model. Miryante Foster Care Program provides services for orphans and vulnerable children in Western Uganda. This program provides food, clothes, medical support, and school fees for children who have lost parents as a result of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, disease, or conflict in the region. Many of these children have chronic medical conditions. Gyavira Buyende Home is located in Buyende District in Eastern Uganda. It opened in 2018 in response to the overwhelming need for services for orphaned and vulnerable children with long term medical conditions, largely as a result of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It provides food, clothing, school fees, and counseling services for these children who are living with families in the community.

Mable Karungi’s story is one of resilience, faith, and extraordinary determination. She joined Miryante Community Center at just 7 years old, at a time when life had already dealt her a painful blow, the loss of her father. As an orphan, her future could have easily been uncertain, but from the very beginning, Mable carried within her a quiet strength and a remarkable spirit.

From her early days at the center, it was clear that Mable was special. She is not only incredibly bright but also deeply God-fearing, grounded in faith even through the hardest moments. Her educational journey has not been easy marked by challenges that would have discouraged many, but Mable never gave up. Instead, she kept pushing forward with courage, discipline, and unwavering hope.

Time and again, she proved her brilliance by consistently ranking among the top students in her class. But her most outstanding achievement came by God’s grace, when she emerged as one of the top students in the entire country in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations. This milestone is not just a testament to her intelligence, but to her perseverance, faith, and the power of never losing sight of a dream.

And what a beautiful dream it is, Mable aspires to become a lawyer, driven by a desire to make a difference and stand for justice. Her journey continues to inspire everyone around her.

We give thanks to God for His faithfulness in Mable’s life. We are deeply grateful to her beloved sponsor, whose support has made such a difference, to the dedicated teachers who nurtured her potential, and to the entire Miryante Community Center family who have walked alongside her every step of the way.

Mable’s story is a powerful reminder that no matter where you come from, with faith, support, and determination, greatness is possible.

School visits by social workers of Miryante Community Center at the Buyende Project are carried out to monitor children’s academic progress and overall welfare. During these visits, social workers meet with teachers and school administrators to discuss children’s performance, behavior, attendance, and any challenges affecting their learning. They also ensure that the children are safe, supported, and benefiting from the project’s assistance. These visits help strengthen collaboration between the school, the project, and families, ensuring that the children receive the guidance and support needed to succeed in school and in their personal development.

The partnership between Miryante Community Center and Rotary Club of Mubende continues to play a significant role in strengthening community development and promoting economic empowerment. Through joint initiatives, the two organizations are creating awareness and equipping communities with practical financial skills that support better decision-making and sustainable livelihoods.

By engaging directly with community members, the partnership focuses on teaching practical skills such as budgeting, saving, investment awareness, and responsible borrowing. These lessons are helping people understand how to manage their income more effectively, plan for the future, and avoid common financial challenges. As a result, communities are gradually building a culture of financial discipline.

Another important aspect of this initiative is helping individuals understand and effectively use financial tools such as bank accounts, SACCOs, and mobile money services. With the right knowledge, people are better able to save securely, access financial services, and participate more actively in the local economy.

Financial literacy matters because it empowers individuals and families to make informed financial decisions. When people understand how to manage their resources well, they are better prepared to handle unexpected expenses, plan for long-term goals, and create opportunities for growth.

The impact of these efforts is already visible within communities. Families are developing stronger saving habits, small businesses are becoming more organized, and individuals are gaining confidence in managing their finances. Ultimately, this partnership is contributing to more financially stable households, increased economic participation, and stronger, more resilient communities

It’s exciting to see the steady progress of the tailoring students at Miryante Community Center. Over the past weeks, their growth has been both inspiring and encouraging.

Many of the students who started with little or no experience are now confidently operating sewing machines, taking accurate body measurements, and cutting fabric with precision.
