YWED was excited to be represented in a two-days training from 7th and 8th September, 2024; on Civic Engagement, conflict analysis, creating awareness on migration-related issues, international and national human rights (for both refugees and host communities) and community engagement.
This program seeks to embed a transformational approach to peace in the southwestern region by building on previous actions to enhance conflict prevention and resilience capacities among stakeholders.
The training was organized by (KAS) in collaboration with - RGT and .
In this training, we had an opportunity to attend and connect with different refugee leaders, RLOs Leaders, and representatives. we are so grateful for this opportunity and eager to apply the skills and knowledge acquired for the good of our communities.

We are excited to show you the progress of our nursery bed set last week, as you can see, the seeds have now germinated and it needs our attention and care so, it can grow better and ready for transplantation after some days ahead. Stay tuned for more updates and success.

We are thrilled to announce and share with you that in this August we have started a new project in our area of farming and agriculture to respond on participant's Livelihoods and gain skills and knowledge through sustainable agriculture practices. in this project, a number of seeds will be planted as a demonstration to participants and learning purposes.we started with land preparation and then set a nursery bed where we planted the first seed category of onions. We are happy to share that on 19th July,2024; YWED was invited by to participate in a meeting that gathered a number of Grassroots Organizations from different refugee settlements and Urban refugees to discuss about activities and challenges we are facing. Our YWED's Executive Director had an opportunity to talk about our projects and impact achieved in the community.

In November to December 2023, YWED in partnership with ALIGHT conducted a GBV awareness campaigns in Sweswe zone where we informed people about different categories of violence and were able to mention the problem they are going through in their respective households and the entire community. We are happy that very many participants promised to change and end GBV cases in the community. In this activity, YWED gathered 510 community members in two months. This activity was supported by Uganda.

In October 2023 , YWED conducted an Awareness campaigns on Child Protection component where 170 parents, youth, community structures, and leaders were involved to learn about the different types of abuses done against children in the community, people learned about children's rights and how to respond to them. This activity were supported by Child Protection department.
