Men as Allies in the Clean Energy Transition.

"Men are shifting from traditional to supportive roles."

Through our recent engagement, we’ve documented husbands taking active roles in domestic chores, from fetching water to cooking, as part of a modern, supportive partnership. By challenging the cultural norms that label domestic work as "women's business," we are creating the time and space for women to thrive and for families to adopt safer, cleaner cooking technologies.

Why Joint Decisions Lead to Faster Adoption.

Our field data shows a clear link: households that make decisions together are more likely to invest in clean cooking solutions.

In Zone 3, for instance, two couples made the decision to purchase D-Light products immediately following our dialogue session. By bringing both spouses to the table, we remove the "waiting" period often caused by traditional decision-making hierarchies.

What Does True Partnership Look Like?
"We dress in matching outfits to show our community that at home, we are one body."

During our recent dialogues, couples who practice joint decision-making shared their experiences. When spouses decide together, whether it's on farming, school fees, or purchasing a clean cookstove, they build a foundation of trust that reduces family conflict. This is the heart of the SUSTAINED II approach: strengthening the family unit to sustain the transition to clean energy.

Staging the Change: Using Drama to Break Barriers.

Resistance to new technology often stems from tradition. During our recent dialogues, role model mentors used drama to showcase common household struggles, highlighting how resistance to clean cooking can create tension, while joint adoption brings harmony.

Seeing their own lives reflected on stage allows community members to visualize the benefits of clean energy, leading to a measurable increase in product interest and adoption.

Changing Mindsets, One Household at a Time.

Clean cooking solutions are most effective when they are adopted by the whole family. Under the SUSTAINED II Project, CECI Uganda is moving beyond product distribution to host participatory community dialogues.

We engaged over 230 VSLA members in Bidibidi and Yumbe to promote shared household responsibilities and gender-equitable decision-making. We aren't just bringing energy to homes; we are fostering the partnership needed to sustain it.

Join the Journey. Change the Story.

The SEE-4-GIRLS inception phase is complete, and the energy in Koboko and Yumbe is undeniable. With the support of Caritas Switzerland, we’ve aligned with 49 key stakeholders and are ready to roll out.

But the need is greater than our current targets. The overwhelming dropout rates in Northern Uganda require more partners, more resources, and more vision.
Will you be the next partner to bridge the gap for these girls?

Planting the Seeds of a Greener Future. 🌳

During our meetings, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) made a unique request: integrate environmental conservation into our nutrition strategy.

In response, we would like to explore and providing fruit tree seedlings to schools and landlords hosting our learners. It’s a win-win: better nutrition for the girls and environmental restoration for the region. Can You Help Us do that by trusting us with the finances since we already have the human resource

From Dropout to Business Owner.

Not every girl wants to return to the formal classroom. For those seeking immediate economic independence, SEE-4-GIRLS offers hands-on apprenticeship placements.
By 2028, we aim to have 300 young women equipped with either a Primary Leaving Certificate or a vocational trade. This isn't just a 3-year project; it’s a 30-year change in the economic trajectory of a family.

Balancing the Scale for Peace and Growth.

The SEE-4-GIRLS project operates in a 70% Refugee and 30% Host Community ratio across Bidibidi and Lobule. However, our 2026 inception report highlighted a surge in demand from host communities in Koboko.

We are actively listening to local feedback to re-evaluate targets, ensuring that our presence fosters social cohesion rather than competition for resources.
Support a project that listens to the pulse of the community.

Education is More Than Books.

To keep a teenage mother in school, you must address the root causes of her vulnerability. In the SEE-4-GIRLS project, we are pairing education with Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and nutrition sessions.

Thanks to synergy with partners like , we are integrating nutrition support and mother-to-mother mentorship into our AEP centers. When a mother and her child are healthy, her focus remains on her future.
